~6-8 hours for most everything cause of slow swing states.
Final polls will close in 4 or so hours. Remember, the country spans many time zones, so it takes a while, close races not withstanding.

Romney will win SC, I guarantee it.
edit: I'm still sticking with my projections btw, it's just my family is depressing me.

I want to see xDaunt here, he was on the warpath about the polls earlier.

miami-dade county evidently is very huge. it's probably breaking 59/40 for obama but now it's tied at 50/50

Dunno. Didn't seem to mean much in '00 and I think '04 as well.

What are you guaranteeing it with? Your car? Otherwise your guarantee is rather useless.

This is 100x more entertaining than the SC2 drama threads.
That being said, I still have a midterm tmrw, aughhhh. Cannot afford to waste time F5ing pages. And yet I do!

Obama +3 was just about what the polls showed for Obama in Ohio before the election. Looks like Romney's chances really are less than ~5% like Silver says.
I think he might have been talking about that he now has a 3% edge in FL votes with 28% counted...I can't do the county analysis to see how relevant that is, but that's pretty big.
Edit: Aaaaand now 1% edge. Ha.

It's already called for Romney anyway.

Remember, some of these states that aren't being called early that were expected to go one way or another weren't exit polled (like SC and GA) so the calls will come later than we're used to.

Historically speaking, Romney must win Ohio or he is doa.
As someone who has watched these things unfold closely since 2000, I think it will be close on the east coast, but Obama will seal the deal pretty early in the night, overall. I expect for him to take Florida and Ohio, with a narrow loss in Virginia. But it's close, so it's exciting!

South Carolina is almost certainly Romney's, it's not even a question.
Ohio is the most important state that Romney must conceivably win.

Making that bet for either Carolina is a bad bad bad idea.

29% of the vote is in so far for Florida. Poll shows 50-49 Obama
Only 4% is in so far for Virginia. Poll shows 60-39 Romney
