It is horrific beyond description. It's almost like they WANT riots to happen in the all-but-inevitable not-guilty verdict. It irresponsible and awful. Truthfully, given a lot of the local political motives for a number of people involved, it should probably be assumed that's what they'd want. The fact they're going for a Murder 2 charge pretty much told everyone this was heavily political in nature. The DA's office has set themselves up to fail. (The first few days of the Trial have shown they didn't have a prayer on the Motive aspect needed for Murder 2. So that part is just grand standing.) chronology is key.
they were going for a racial angle with the "profiling" basis for the second degree murder. if they could show profiling then they would have the requisite scienter (state of mind) for a high level murder conviction instead of a manslaughter conviction.
however, a few months after they indicted for second degree murder, the FBI basically said it wasn't racism (no hate crime) and pulled the rug from under the prosecution's case. the judge did the same when she said the prosecutor cant use race as the basis for profiling since there is no evidence.
no evidence of racism makes the second degree charge look silly. they are still trying for it by using the term profiling and putting in prior tapes where he called the cops on black people, but its not very coherent.

prosecutor keeps interrupting the witness' answers. i wonder what else he has to say that the prosecutor doesnt want to hear.

What exactly is the relevance of which pocket the witness put Zimmermann's cellphone in?

"When you observed the defendant Zimmerman, did it seem like he was in a fight or confrontation?"
"Yes" - Witness

Is there a feed that shows the jury? I have been reading comments that one juror appears to keep looking over at trayvon parents. Doesn't really mean toooo much to me but I just wanted to be able to see what these other people are seeing.

That is what I thought. Must be people in the court room making comments on the fox news stream? Multiple people made a comment that B29 keeps focusing on the parents.

the last two witnesses seem really good for the defense, is that true?

very very good.

On June 29 2013 02:38 crms wrote: the last two witnesses seem really good for the defense, is that true? yes, for the most part. the current guy is setting a scenario where zimmerman appears calm and collected after the shooting, which can be evidence that he was not really in fear, intimidated, etc. however, cross is bringing the witness back to the defense side, especially when the witness agreed that it looked like self defense to him.

Never heard of or been to a courtroom that allows phones or devices. There's always all kind of crazy in fox news comments.

It will take a miracle for the state to recover.
Something along the lines of lightning striking and killing Zimmerman.
I don't know how the last two witnesses won't at least lead to a hung jury.

I would agree. But when multiple people ask the same thing and someone confirms, makes you think somehow they can see this. Could be multiple people trolling for all I know.
Edit:
Fin Gomez 27m Juror B29 quickly glances over to the direction of Martin family shortly after lights go back on. #zimmerman #trayvon
I guess this person is in fact reporting from inside the court room.

i wouldnt read too much in juror's looking at the family or zimmerman. most likely they are just curious to see how they will react to potentially damaging evidence. zimmerman appears pretty emotionless throughout; the family are emotionless most of the time except when pictures of their child, questions about the killing, etc. go on. i doubt those looks will sway the jury at all since they already are feeling these emotions even if zimmerman or the family werent in the room.

Yeah, I know I would be glancing at the parents. I don't think it would consciously affect my decisions either way...But simple curiosity would make me look at them.

Ya I wasn't making much of it. I was just confused as to how someone was seeing the Jurors. That answered my question, nothing more to it.

oh dumb question prosecutor.... witness just said he was "staggering."

i think lawyers generally instruct their clients to not show emotion in the court room. so i wouldnt read anything in to zimmermans lack of doing anything.
