Killing 50 people from what seems to be at least 50-100m range, how is it possible? Maybe people can do something themselves without government banning weapons. Like not allow people to bring firearms into hotels and such.

But then the evil guy finds a way to bring the gun into the hotel and slaughters the unarmed. If you would have listened to the response to previous such incidents, the problem was clearly, that the 30k people down there were not sufficiently armed to take out the guy firing unseen from a balcony a few dozen floors above them!

its also pretty sad how kids do not go outside and play any more due to this overblown fear they'll get snatched up. now we have a group of 18 to 21 year olds that are afraid of their own shadow because they've never done anything without adult supervision.

Just in the city of Las Vegas, just during the remaining few months of 2017, there are seven scheduled multi-day gun shows.

A reminder the person to person sales of fire arms are completely unregulated by the federal goverment. This means that every state’s regulate is only as good as the least regulated state’s regulations.

To stop people bringing firearms into hotels you would have to start searching everyones luggage. That would kill the hotel industry. It is not like they willingly let him bring guns in.

The timing will always be wrong, there's always some higher freedom to think about. Those killed today and in every mass shooting are just collateral damage in a bigger fight for an imagined freedom.

You can buy semi-automatic weapons of the same make and model that can be easily modified to be fully automatic. They are illegal on paper, but easy enough to acquire if you want to obtain and modify them.

It will be remembered as evidence that the country is dangerous and that you need to buy guns to protect yourself within it. Why not capitalize on an opportunity like this.
