So does anyone have a replacement for german users?
Grooveshark was so good .... tried out simfy and its very annoying and missing out some cool features ... and theres a 20 Hours per month limit for free users (reached it in 2 days) , and iam not even talking about the commercials and "way less music to choose from" ....
T_T i miss grooveshark already

I'll probably pay, it's worth it for me.

oh wait! (yes I know I still can access it :D ) WTF? you kidding me? it has been locked/blocked in germany since about 2 weeks. i'm using a proxy to access grooveshark since then. but it's not free anymore. you don't even have an option to pay. it's just locked. ps: when ACTA is passed, using grooveshark will maybe be an actual crime........... omfg........................... internet, why you not cool anymore? This is what I read: + Show Spoiler +They raised the prices at my local grocery store. So I'm like "fuck that shit! I'll break in through the back door and grab all the stuff I want! You can't stop me!". When the police arrive, this may actually be seen as a crime. What is this world coming to? Ungrateful brats... </old man> i would gladly pay for grooveshark, mister.

Well, it's not quite the same, but I really like 8tracks ( http://www.8tracks.com ). It's basically a website where people make playlists and you can listen to them, I enjoy it. And sometimes I just really need to listen to 'random' music that I am not controlling.

phew, thought it was worldwide

4$ is a quite good deal, for such a quality service. i would pay up to 10$ or even 20$ per month if the service is not limited and complete legal. as i am from germany grooveshark is geoblocked for me, so i am unfortunaltely out of the game.
btw: for firefox exist a couple of addons which will proxy your grooveshark requests, and make the service accessible again.

The main problem with Grooveshark and all the other online radio/playlist thingies is that they don't have any of the music I listen to. It really is difficult for me. None of the albums I like are in the stores either, what do?

This is probably because of ACTA I guess?

T_T i miss grooveshark already I never used grooveshark so I can't tell you about the difference. But I am using lastfm.de like 3 years now. If you just want to listen some random music (which you give a general topic by searching for tags or artists) it's a nice place to be
Btw guys you ever knew that you can listen to web radios? And I can understand that they need to charge you, honestly I guess I would pay some small fee for lastfm.de as well. Like 3 Euros/Month is fine with me if I can listen good music, as much as I want.
Edit:

Then you should maybe write the artists they should try to actually distribute their music to their fans instead of hiding it in their basement
Edit2: Yea I am half-evil now :3 333 posts ftw.

WOOT still free in India. Too bad spotify isnt available here yet T_T

I use a little extension called Stealthy, it's available both on chrome and firefox, it's definitely the simplest way to use proxy you will find. Just click the little icon when you need to proxy something. Works for pretty much anything... Spotify, Pandora, Grooveshark

real art = spreading an opinion, therefore it should always be free. calling shitty pop music art is retarded. must be shit listening to commercial garbage. diy ftw and down with the music business

Damn. I just bought earphones this saturday, so I could listen to grooveshark with my phone. I hope this "We never meant to..." is all it's going to be, because luckily the streaming app doesn't seem affected at all.
|
The problem with other music sites is ... theres alot less songs ... you could nearly find all songs (remixes , covers , acoustics) @ grooveshark ...
Not just the original one.

For Germany, Switzerland and Austria, use Simfy.de
Its pretty good so far, most of the stuff Ive wanted to hear, is there.

Well its all about the playlists for me. Dont want to make new ones. And there are also a lot of good ones on Grooveshark I subscribed to.
I continue to proxy.

Still free here in the Philippines but I'm thinking that they would be implementing this in other countries as well.
Hmmmm...anymore good suggestions for music streaming?
