Do some exercise where you use one arm more than the other, look like you are wearing £230 clothing? That isn't top grade clothing ala your example of shoes, this is pure fashion to display wealth ostentatiously. Turn that £230 into £2.30 and you aren't interested, otherwise you'll be bartering down in Camden Town instead. I'd like to think most people long since grew past the point where they judge clothing by its price tag. Also, I mentioned that to most people, it looks like a regular tee and wifebeater/undershirt; unless everyone on the street suddenly grew the ability to recognize RO immediately, you aren't flaunting shit to anyone.
If you don't understand and you're being so childish to imply that I'm inferior over the assumption that I don't engage outdoor activity, then I really have no time to explain the differences to you.
ps i'd clean their stock out if that shit cost 2.30 no chance for the application of my chinese haggling skills i guess?

So...I am right then. You buy it because it's RO, not because of anything else. ^^
And presumably stand tall like that dude in the photo. That is afterall how they market it.
|
no dude I'd buy it because I aint gotta sweat like a pig after swinging my hand at green fuzzy balls to achieve that look
cause you know I aint about dat nadal life
|
you cant really compare the wrinkle and drape of an RO shirt to an athletic shirt. like yeah i could make a program look like MS word if you let me loose in python...
if your point is that the price is why people buy things... well thats true of some people sure. but most designer clothing won't even be recognized by people on the street. people that buy things because they're expensive tend to buy heavily labeled things like LV bags and stuff.
also theres nothing wrong with buying it because its RO or x designer if you like it. you can do that with any consumer good lol. why do you buy Kraft brand mac and cheese HUH? ??
but different perspectives and all.

wut juliette, you majoring in cs/want to be a software dev now? :O otherwise pro-est biochem(iirc??) major ever at coding ahaha.
I get where both of you are coming from on that one, but I think you understand what dangermousecatdog is saying and are trying to explain to him, while he can't see it your way still. :X And oh yeah that's a really good point, huh, people who only buy it for the recognition/expensiveness get highly visible, branded stuff like LV bags or benz cars.

no lol ive been "learning" python though
its kinda cool when you recognize those brands though. like i saw a guy at the airport and he had CPs and i was like "those are CPs" before i saw the gold numbers

Yeah I imagine that must be pretty awesome, especially if it's not an obvious brand with a logo on it or whatever. You're just like "aww yeah, I gotcha brah, good shit ;o".

Why would anyone buy Rick Owens to "showcase wealth"? the only people who would recognize it are other fashion victims...
People who wants to showcase their "wealth" buy Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren or other poorly made overpriced shit with big logos on the chest.

You're just like "aww yeah, I gotcha brah, good shit ;o". thats exactly what im doing this year fml. orgo is the worst. actually its not so bad. once you get it, you get it. you just have to get it within the 4 months of class lols. but my class has a late bloomer rule
FK trainers came in. dunno why people size down. i took my normal size and if anything its a little too narrow
|
depends on where they're made. south europe sizing (italy/spain/portugal) is europe+1 so you need to size down (e.g. my cps in 40 fit me ideally even though i wear 7/41 normally)
i really wish we just adopted japanese size system - use goddamn centimetres and not some random arbitrary numbers
|
you're supposed to size down for cps though.
|
42 in SLP is too big on me and its supposed to be the same as CP... Am i a 41?
Finding CPs irl to try on is impossible. Ill probs order the 41 tho.

Wow... I can not speak on fashion other than what appeals to me. I do not understand the form fitting stuff. Not only do I not have the most manly of builds, It seems rather constricting. Ive never tried to wear anything like that though so who knows.
The other thing that is insane to me is the prices some of you pay. Even when I did not have a mortgage or kids, extra bills (student loans, braces, insurance for 4 etc.) I never had the kind of money to spend like this.
I still enjoy seeing all the styles though for sure! Constantly trying to work a specific style for my Balloon Man FuDD thing.

I also bought these gareth pugh gloves. i dont know how much i will wear them but they were on sale and very creative, i like to support Pugh, he is one of the young talents in the fashion world.

that's the point - they're made in italy using italian sizing.
another thing: I really want to buy this Schneider coat (you got me hyped, heh) but I have no clue how to actually wear it. I looked on reddit, SF and sufu and I couldn't find any fits. it looks like a piece that needs a wardrobe built in the same style and I don't have that

Anyone have any experience with the Alpha Industries Slim Fit M65? I wear XS in most outerwear but I've read the original M65's are massively oversized for military purposes so I'm interested in this but not sure if it'd be slim fitting enough. 5'9", 35" chest, ~125 lbs
