i'm gong to agree on prosrum being dreadful but yeah prada done even barely right >>> what you're dong with lv, honestly, dude you bought polos from them. lv polos, of all the things. think about that. you still haven't answered my question about why you have your irrational hatred of all things not lv/gucci/burberry

I like Prosrum over Brit and London because Brit is too cheap looking (a diffusion line, really) for such an iconic brand, whereas London is too traditional for me.

Dibs on flight pants in 44/46 Thanks for the tip. Maybe I can get a dip dye sweatshirt or a parka. Can anyone (andyrau) weigh in on geller's best pieces?

He also has a very different theme/inspiration for each of his collections so it's kind of hard to say which of his was 'the best'. I quite liked both of his collections (s/s & a/w) for 2012 though, it's so urban and contemporary whilst drawing from an almost 40s London/Parisian style. I think the main highlight of his career is his involvement with Cloak, a now defunct label that made cuts/garments far ahead of its time, and in my eyes their fits were timeless. All of their clothing are pretty much grails nowadays, lol. I posted before that some designers' stuff looks great on a runway but doesn't really translate too well into everyday wear, whereas some designers have the exact opposite problem where their runway outfits look terrible but taken individually, their clothing is stellar. In this aspect, Geller is an interesting designer in that a lot of his individual clothes are dually designed for both practicality and aesthetic without sacrificing either aspect. I think I remember him being quite frank in an interview, telling people that street clothing and runway outfits should be mostly mutually exclusive. I also remember him talking about building away from the Slimane silhouette that has dominated the industry for something like a literal decade. It's not that he thinks we should deviate completely from it and go full Yohji, but if you build on top of it, (ie juxtapose some baggier and free-flowing garments with the traditional slimness) it won't necessarily trendsetting or gamechanging. However, it gives an interesting twist that breathes life on an otherwise old and beaten style. I only have blue / gray / black jeans, usually a bit scruffy, and black slim fit t-shirts, does that work? I'm fashion-retarded, so don't jump out of the window if that combination isn't what you're supposed to wear. ![]()

you dont need to ask others if what you're wearing looks good. be comfortable in what you wear, and judge it objectively for yourself as "looks good" by comparing how you look with pictures of what you think looks good. you can always post pictures of yourself here and we can offer some constructive criticism above all else clothing should be based on your perception of beauty. "fashion" is a big umbrella term and you shouldnt base what looks good on a hivemind way of looking at things. different places/groups have different ideals. for example - "are two types of leather colors a nono" do you think it looks bad? it probably is. do you think it looks good? well, post a picture of your jacket here and we can talk about it. hopefully i dont turn you off to this thread, but its not the first time ive seen a very subjective question and im not sure if i like it or not. there is no "combination you're supposed to wear." sure there's certain archetypes that look very good (navy suit, white shirt, brown shoes, navy tie, white PS) but you can do different things to it and it can still look very good. so we don't have a verdict on brown leather shoes because it depends on the context of which you are wearing it. brown shoes with a navy suit? gogogo. brown shoes with a black leather jacket? maybe consider matching your leathers. ^_^
