Why would someone buy LV or Hermès shoes?
|
i think at this point we're gonna give the same opinions - there's better shoes out there, and better products for those labels, but at the end if the day its your money, so spend it on what makes you happy. ^^

very good quality leather personal preference for label highly marketed brands (ala LV) still have good products
unless you're asking why someone would spend $500 on shoes :p

ah i misread 'or' as 'over'

that's because nobody shops lv or hermes for their sneakers
son those are so mediocre whichever way i look at them, they scream boring from miles away. just get the longislands or the mirage, or get both if you want, idk anymore, pretty sure if i wanted to buy two pairs of sneakers from lv (god forbid that day ever come) it would be those. pics when they show up plx tho

after a certain pricepoint you're not really asking people for opinions on whether or not these are better than others. most of the patterns you've been showing us are quite literally just variations on canvas plimsolls, so there's not really anything to love or hate about them. they're regular beater sneakers with LV/whatever stamped on them.
the shit you should be getting from those labels, you're not getting. the shit that you shouldn't be getting, you are.
at this point we've already reiterated ourselves for a page and a half, so either: flip a coin, or get all of them. stop asking us for inane suggestions.

lol I don't understand the techwear trend at all tbh, it looks like regular gym/jogging clothes to me.

a lot of the innerwear and def the shoes are pretty much gym clothes haha. the pants too, sometimes. i think i'm into the more simple outers, because its cold enough in illinois to need them sometimes, and i like how minimal they are without being completely monotone (aka black). i think i like the clean lines vs the flowyness of ninj or something, and i'm not really into the proportion play. that said i still think i wanna try all rick one day lol. also geos are not out of the question with some techwear.
right now though, i need to find pants. just not sure how i want the silhouette to work out, + waiting a bit because budget.
actually more pressing matter is to find a damn tailor for darting on some shirts + hemming/tapering some pants. i'm a lazy motherfucker

I finally bought my first pair of AE shoes. I tried on a whole bunch. Determined that my feet are narrow and that my correct size in 9.5B. I ordered a Park Avenue in bourbon...
http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF270_1_40000000001_-1
Since they didn't have a 9.5B in stock they need to actually make the shoe for me; so I was told I'd get it in about 5-6 weeks.
Should be nice versatile shoes. I hope to get lots of wear out of them. We'll see if these really last 10 years, or even close! It so it will be well worth the $350 I paid for them.

but dude one of them uses DENIM, that's def worth 500 dollars right

I like it :O. That would look great with a nice pair of white jeans and some leather oxfords/dub monks in a dark or creamy brown . I wonder what belt color you would wear with that though.

Does anyone have any experience with british suit companies (or anything that delivers to UK at a reasonable price)? I'm going to need two or three new suits in the coming month, but I can't afford savile row/MTM stuff just yet. My budget would probably be in the £300-350 region each. I already have one suit from suitsupply but would like to branch out a bit (even though they're pretty good). Probably going to go to a few places this weekend but I thought I'd ask if anyone has any suggestions/advice. I know the basics of suit fit (make sure shoulders fit, inch of a collar and half an inch of cuff showing, no X when buttoned, etc.), but maybe I'm missing something someone's willing to pass on the experience of suit shopping :D

Finally going to go get some N&F jeans tomorrow :O Nordstrom's might not have the kind I'm looking for though, so with luck, I'll at least be able to try the fit.
I know jackshit about fashion and style (though I'm now subscribed to this thread after forgetting about it) but I'm pretty sure I dress like a pleb. T_T Athletic pants/shirts should NOT be for when I'm out in public on a normal day. They're so comfortable though, so that's why most of my shit is like polyester lol...
Oh I see Juliette, yeah in that case I'll just try them on for fit. =P

$300 bonobos blazer? LBM is only another $300 away though...
Greggy make sure its not made of polyester. Unless its a tech fabric that shit is hot. At your price ($500ish) it might be worth saving up to a $1k bracket suit. Why not another Suit supply?
Aerisky gl! If you know your size/fit its prolly cheaper online
