They're definitely these I appreciate the input. I don't have much of a budget to work with whole outfit including shoes/belt was less than 50$ int he first pic. I don't usually dress like that mostly because not sure how/not appropriate at a lot of functions I go to. And agreed that the beard does not compliment that look

The belts a good color overall, very versatile. Could you perhaps provide other examples of how you would dress outside of that style?

The belt was one US dollar, genuine Italian leather (hooray for thrift shopping)...I can't find the thing now.. I'm off to look for it. I'll post some more pics if anyone cares to see either much later tonight or tomorrow. Don't have a lot on hand unfortunately. Edit:mostly bought the shoes since they drove my girlfriend bonkers (she really really liked them) and they were only 10$. (also grammar)

beard makes you too tiptop heavy so I'd recommend shaving it, but from your responses I'm gathering you need to keep it for some reason or another. also there's a thread for gustin denim on sf last I checked.

1) What color shoes go well with black jeans (besides black)? 2) Is there a shoe color that can go well with both black jeans and blue jeans? Would dark navy work? Pics would be nice, but if not then just a simple answer. Thanks! Thinking of getting these: http://www.louisvuitton.com/front/#/eng_US/Collections/Men/Shoes/products/Slalom-sneaker-in-denim-916877 Interesting how I already feel biased toward giving you certain advice the second that I see you're considering to buy a pair of Louis Vuitton sneakers. 1) as you mention black shoes goes well with black but also white shoes (especially when worn) can give a nice contrast to a fit (depending on what other colors and fabrics you're throwing in there). In my world red shoes can look really good with black jeans, but then again it's very difficult to say because of what look you're going for, which other colors are there and what fabrics so it's not that easy, at least not if you want a "good fashion" kind of look. I know I might be making the answer a lot harder than you want it to be, but it's very hard just talking out of colors and not fabrics, pieces and all that. But black, worn white, red, grey, brown would be my advice. 2) again depending on what kind of look you're going for it can be different. But a black pair of shoes will work with both black and blue jeans. I know it might sound boring, but it takes a whole lot more effort to actually incorporate a well though, good looking colored pair of shoes/sneakers into an outfit than just saying "that color would look good". It's about a "whole" if you know what I mean. Dark navy might work, yes, but there's a possibility it might not work either. I don't think the Louis Vuitton sneaker you're linking to is necessarily a bad sneaker, my thoughts are more than if you're going to get sneakers from LV I assume that you're already into that kind of brands and have a wardrobe matching it. The reason why I don't know what to think is that with the jeans you're talking just generally and not mentioning certain brands with certain values but more jeans in general. If you're just talking about jeans in general and you want to buy a pair of sneakers, I would suggest that you at least spend some time on more websites searching for sneakers. The pair you're linking isn't bad looking, it's just that if you're "just" out to buy a pair of sneakers, getting a pair of LV is definitely overkill - even if you want to wear an extra expensive pieces that you're proud of. I might be blabbering but I'd love if you would make (just a short response) because I would love to hear you thoughts before and after reading my post. When, like me, you've first entered the world of textiles there's so much more to it than just colors, fabrics, cuts etc., it's about a whole, a unity that combined makes you look that certain way that you want to look :-) (haha I'm getting all deep and silly intellectual here).

If you're thinking of LV sneakers.... Dunno what to tell you. Unless you really like LV there's better options, even in the handbag designers list. Balenciaga for example. Kuriz that last part is very true. Silly and intellectual in here is a good thing :D

Hermes, Corthay, LV, Bottega, etc all have extremely high qualities of leather; I'd wager the treatment, time, and attention to detail their leather lines receive are definitely on par or better than a lot of artisan brands. That being said, this obviously doesn't include a lot of their garments/accessories that can be deemed part of their diffusion lines. If you're really looking for what looks to be a canvas plimsoll, there are far better alternatives out there. Like kuriz said, white and red are the obvious choices that go well with black denim. However, red footwear is kinda difficult to pull off and only a certain material such as distressed leather or suede is suitable; a coated/waxed leather doesn't really cut it. Besides, isn't the general rule in menswear for matching this type of stuff is that the shoes have to be as dark or darker than your pants or some shit? I'm sure a deep mahogany, dark charcoal, or a chocolate brown would work as well.
