Yes, please do! Even though i already use memrise with my android webbrowser, an app would certainly make things easier.

Personally i just used a picture of the korean keyboard layout on my PC..its not that hard to memorize where which letter is, its pretty logical (vocals mostly on the right half, consonants on left half)
and like I said i use memrise on my phone, so there I can just quickly switch to the korean language.

The letters go in the order they are read. With doubled up letters like ㄸ, ㅉ etc. they're behind the shift key, and for double vowels like ㅟ, ㅘ etc. you type the horizontal one first and the vertical second, after the first consonant or ㅇ. So if you want to type 꽑, which is transliterated "kkwarg" and is a nonsense syllable with all the bells and whistles, you type shift+ㄱ, ㅗ, ㅏ, ㄹ, ㄱ. Also, ㅒand ㅖ are behind the shift-key for ㅐand ㅔ.
The system is smart enough to separate the letters right, if you don't go back and try to alter them after it's finished, so just type the letters in order and the IME will take care of the rest.

Signed up today and I'm already addicted! I saw this thread a while back but didn't really pay attention until now - wish I had sooner.
Learning French right now -- I've never taken formal French lessons but lived in France for a few months earlier this year so this is a great way for me to keep learning. managed to make it to the top 5 of the daily leaderboard after a couple hours this morning. TL-DueLeR

why is it down so much T_T

I didn't notice it being down, but there's a completely new design now.
|
Awesome, just started Italian.
One of my goals for December is to learn a new language and this is gonna be my tool. How efficient is it truly?
|
It's very good at increasing your vocabulary and pronunciation, but you can't learn a language just by using this. Also, I like the new design, but I wish they'd include a button where you could water *all* your wilting plants, rather than having to trawl through each topic.

I wish there was a way for the system to differentiate between word classes like adjectives, nouns and verbs. I've faced a couple of multiple choice questions asking for a verb with precisely one verb in the choices.
Also, the on-site forum is bugged for me again.

Hey there - sorry about this. We're doing a lot of infrastructure upgrades and a redesign, and it's hard sometimes to make changes quickly without breaking things briefly Things will settle back down within the next two weeks.

Hmmm - I'm sorry to hear that. We're going to have to look into the forum issues. We're using Disqus, but it may be that that's causing problems. Can you say anything about your username, browser and url that are giving you trouble?

I would really recommend people who like this approach to move over to Anki if you get serious. This is graphical and easy to get started in, but trades insane control for cute stuff like points.
Anki is basically the same thing, an SRS system, but it gives you full control over what it shown at what intervals. It let's you sync online, it works on iPhone and Android, it supports latex mathematical formulas, images, sound. Instead of using predetermined courses (which are available as well), you can make any form of learning deck from scratch.

I like the new design, it's going to take some getting used to but I'm loving it so far. Nice work guys keep it up!

Can you say anything about your username, browser and url that are giving you trouble? Personally, I can see comments on Chrome but not on Opera. I don't think it's Disqus since many of the tech websites (engadget/techcrunch) use it as well, and I can see comments quite easily there.
Regarding the redesign, I'm not mad about it. It feels like I have to go through multiple pages to reach things which used to be available on the dashboard. Planting seeds is the most annoying one so far, especially after you finish planting seeds. Also, the graphics don't work well when the white interaction block in the middle is small:
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/K2mZB.jpg)
The sharp division between the blue sky and the white clouds at the bottom had me convinced that the page was still loading or didn't load correctly the first time I saw it. Also, as has been mentioned quite a lot on the forums, the new flowers aren't that nice.
What I do like about the redesign is that it seems to have more information available. Also, I like the idea that seeds need to be grown a bit first. As I started running into harder words, I found that a single exposure to the seed is not enough and my harvesting sessions were starting to look dismal. Hopefully this will help a bit with that.

Guys, I think it would be good to find a way to concentrate our constructive criticism, so it´s easier for the memrise-guys to get feedback.
I would suggest two ways: 1. Poll. What feature should be next? What is the most annoying thing on the website? Did memrise help you so far? yadayada. 2. Write suggestions in the thread. After a certain day in the future, which I will tell one or two weeks before, I will collect them all and a) insert them into an extrapoll or b) just collect them.
I would suggest to do the feedback in a 3-4 weeks, because now they are changing many things, and we need some time to test it.
What do you guys think about this? Is it good/bad? You have other suggestions?
Another thing: I have this little nasty action sticking in my head: I want to do a 24-marathon on memrise. With stream or without. Would you also do something that? Or how do you think about a kind of raid-day, where the goal is top20 100% TL-users? Let me know! I am always open and ready for such actions!
|
Will post some constructive criticism once I've used it more.
I do have one issue though, as I'm sure you're still working this out... when I go to water my garden for healthy words the water button is stuck behind the plants and I can't click it.

Please add me to the list. I'm TL-ludic123 and I'm learning Spanish.

Hey Memrise guys
I like the new design, much sleeker, and with lots of nice features. Also seems to be generally running smoother. I'd actually built up a lot of feedback from the previous version I'd been building up to share, but it seems like most of it has been addressed. I kind of like the old flowers a little more, but that's not vital
GTo7_Panda's concentrated feedback idea is really good, so I'll save most of my suggestions for the first 'batch' of comments. However the one immediate problem is it seems the new set up isn't Opera compatible. Maybe I've done something wrong at my end, but it just doesn't display right (on google chrome it looks wonderful though).
