Just finishing off our Basic training after 3 months...
Tuesday: Day 1
Well after packing all our bags, we hopped onto a bus.. 2 platoons containing groupleaders (and platoon leaders) and Specialists. Basicly people doing their miltairy service for 10 months (I am a platoon leader, and was supposed to my militairy service for 12 months, but it got shortened down to 10).
Anyway we hopped on these two busses, which drove us out to the woods.

We did a bunch of different things this day, we threw handgrenades, we went into a teargaschamber, we learned how to filter dirty water, we learnt how to jump out of burning windows, how to put out fires, and how how to make Napalm (or what it was made of), we learnt how to build a "tent", we practised atacking in groups of 2. Well a pretty tiring day. We finally got two real tents to sleep in. We had two "watch posts", one who keeps the fire going in the tent, and one who is listening to the radio. Well I got both of these, so I probably slept around 3-4 hours this night.
Wednesday: Day 2
Well they woke us up at around 0500 hours, the first thing we got to do was to take down the tent, and make sure that no one was able to see that we have been sleeping there. We got split into groups of 8, our group was CN = Charlie November. They checked through our packs, to see if we had any food, candy, tobacco. We had to throw everything away..
Anways lunch came, so we all formed a couple of lines to eat the lunch that everyone had been waiting for. So our Captain comes out, and says "Jump", nobody understood what he meant, so he said Jump again. Well our platoon jumped. So our Captain goes "Good, now we've skipped lunch, dinner, breakfeast until further notice".
We formed groups of 8, and a group leader and a "second in command" was chosen. I was the guy who was second in command, never mind. Well we got a map, a radio, some stuff to build a "tent" or rather a shelter, which protects you from the rain, and wind. We also had our weapons (Ak5 (weighing in at 4.5kg), and our packs (weighing in @ 25-30kg).
So we got different points on the map, and they told us to march there. Our first point was about 2-3 km away. So we marched to the point, reported in on the radio that we had arrived. Well they told us to make camp (This is probably at 1700 hours). Well some of us started building our shelter for the night,

whilst others went out hunting for stuff to make porrige and tea (luckily in my group we had a vegetarian who loved the outdoors and knew about >1000 herbs, and vegetables.
Our tent was finished at 22:00 hours. I fell asleep (and missed the porrige and tea), since I had to stand guard and listen to the radio later that night.
Our Major called us up on the radio at around 0100 and told us to tear everything down, and get rid of everything, so NO ONE could see that we had been there. Our next march was around 10 km.. It took us the whole night, about 6 hours. When we arrived he told us to set camp, it was around 0700. We built our "tent" and called him up reporting in that we were done. We had to take it down and start to walk for 3-4km to the next point. Where all the groups met up..

Day 3: Thursday
Well I thought we would be getting some food at this point, I was wrong.. We would be walking even more. We had these stations, or sort of "rounds" to walk. We had 6 rounds at about 4-8km each. Where our group was tested to see how skilled we were. We were tested in these aeras: First aid, Radio communication, Putting up antennas (8m high antennas), Ak5 Knowledge (taking apart, putting back together), climbing down a 25-30m wall, NBC aid (putting a gaskmask on an injured person, and injecting them with a "needle").
I'm already sleeping

These stations finished at around 22:00 hours. Finally we got some food, after 40-45 hours without food or sleep..

Day 4: Friday
Well we had just eaten, so ofcourse we had to start walking again. 12km home, with alot of pain and agony!
Well we finally got to the place we weere supposed to meet everyone. It was about time for breakfeast, so we all formed lines. Suddenly a 2 busses come, so we all start cheering. Then our captain says "jump" so everyone was pissed, but it turned out he was kidding. So we were on our way home!
Me to the right, kind of tired
