I do believe that everyone should have this song just to remember the days of the week and it's annoying and when you show it to a person, they get annoyed :D (Hopefully I don't get warned, I'm totally serious here)
Yeah if you need a song to remember the days of the week use this.
So people have too disparate tastes in music for me to really appreciate all of these, but I knew I should post this song when I thought of it. I'm almost certain someone else already posted it, even though I haven't seen it on the few pages I checked.

I'm not here to judge music tastes. Post it in this thread, I'll put it in the OP list. How my fellow TLers react to a certain song is up to them, and if it is widely recognized as terrible it is easy to identify the poster as a troll.

I was hoping someone would mention VNV Nation. Such an amazing band. I'd like to add one of their songs to this list, as it's one of the most moving pieces of music I've ever heard and firmly believe that it's something special. I've seen VNV live three times now and every single show has been more than just a concert, but almost a spiritual experience.
The video linked isn't an official music video, but instead the combination of an animated video with song which just fits perfectly.
The climax of one of the greatest concept albums of all time. The way the emotion slowly builds up and then suddenly explodes with power is something that can only be matched by Radiohead's Fake Plastic Trees. You must listen to the entire album to fully appreciate it, but alone it is still an amazing piece of work.
In my opinion, Chevelle is one of the most underrated bands out there. Their lyrics are always full of meaning, sung by Pete who has an amazing voice. It's also a 3 man band, which isn't very standard, but I feel that even w/ only one guitar, they managed to take my favorite band spot. Also, don't stop with just this song, it took me like 10 minutes to decide between all of their awesome music, but this is definitely one of my favorites.
The Number Twelve Looks Like You - Cradle in the Crater
Some mathcore to the people! I chose this song because, first of all, I think everyone should at least get to know the genre (if they didn't already) and secondly I actually had a tear-inducing episode when I figured out what it's about. I can't explain it better than the band itself:
Interviewer: "Pick a favourite song from the album and elaborate on its meaning."
Alex: "Cradle In The Crater. It's an intense song, and flows through many moods."
Jesse: "This isn't my song but the song is about my sister's best friend's family's friend whose little brother has a brain tumor. And it's okay if he dies because this world just sucks. It's very emotional."
There were many artists on here i've loved. Some doing sub-par covers of songs that are so powerful they just tore out the emotion too me. maybe this bugged me more, just cause sometimes im a pretentious dick, but The Jeff buckley version of this song pales in compassion.
Maybe not everyone loves romantic/classical music as much as i do, but this is one of my absolute favorites. The poem it's about is super cheesy if you look at it too literally, but you can apply what it says about love to just about anything you like to do, from playing StarCraft to living life in general.
