I was hoping someone would mention VNV Nation. Such an amazing band. I'd like to add one of their songs to this list, as it's one of the most moving pieces of music I've ever heard and firmly believe that it's something special. I've seen VNV live three times now and every single show has been more than just a concert, but almost a spiritual experience. My song + Show Spoiler + Porcupine Tree's Arriving Somewhere, But Not Here is one of the songs ever produced. Tell-tale signs of Steven Wilson's up-bringing on Pink Floyd and other 70s prog bands are strewn throughout the song, with his metal and pop influences expertly woven-in as well. Great production value, great blending of styles, amazing pace, epic song. Definitely worth the twelve minutes of your time. | ||
