Why would a "Psychometric Consulting" company, who operate to make money, conduct a study such as this? Exposure is the answer. Clearly their motives do not involve academia. What happens if their study yields fairly similar results for most browsers? Well then they just wasted their time, money, and resources. What kind of exposure would they get from such a result? "Um yea that's great... you do what again?" Simply put, you can not entrust such a subjective study to a company who has something to prove. To those pleasantly surprised to find out about the rock solid evidence indicating their above average intelligences, please enlighten us as to the special qualities of Opera that would attract a person of higher intellect over Chrome or Firefox.

You would not ask this question, if you could handle Opera properly. ![]() 1. Only idiots dont care if the browser, they use, is out of date. 2. Dump people are more comfortable with things they use all the time.(even if there could be a better alternative) 3. Clever people like to use "unknown" browsers with normal functionality. (attacks are most likely targeting the most common browsers for example) This study isnt pretty suprising. Theres probably much more you could conclude from this. :D I use chrome and firefox and have a IQ of 118 if im sober ![]() When im stoned im around 85 ^^ Nevermind im pretty baked right now

After the people who haven't adapted however (IE 9/8), it seems that it just goes in order of popularity.

IE6 is horribly outdated and it should hassle you to upgrade to IE9 everytime you open it anyways though.

Some people don't understand statistics, just because a company makes a sensationalist claim doesn't mean that it is correct, it takes looking at the dubious methods for procuring the data, what the company had to gain by making this claim, and the fact that so much of the information is not reported by the study to see that it can't be taken at face value, not even statistics to be honest, just common knowledge :D

Although the newer themes provide a more pleasant experience visually, I do this because I want higher FPS in-game for CoD4 and other games that I play competitively, despite the theme change only causing said frames per second to fluctuate between 3-5. By your logic, I am "dumb as shit". Actually, by his logic you are smart, because unlike a dumber person, you made the effort to use a simpler, less demanding theme so that you can get a higher framerate ingame.

At the moment, I mostly use Chrome, with Opera as my backup if a webpage isn't working well in Chrome or something. Ironically enough, one reason that Opera is not my main is that TL looks awful in it.

It's a decent fake, but here are a few obvious reasons why you can just wipe your feet on this piece of dirt : - The article itself is written in a very biased way, roughly 50% of the article being about why Internet Explorer is 'a piece of sh!t'-browser and how it's a pain for developers for so many years. - The article was published on the website of the company itself, combined with the biased opinion towards IE in the article, it doesn't really help their credibility. - No names are attached to it, something rather suspicious. - No actual numbers are given, just graphs. - Psychometrics ? That doesn't even exist. Just think about it... how are you going to measure something that can't be measured ? - IQ tests are the biggest bs ever, they're way too shallow and 1-dimensional to conclude wether or not someone is dumb/smart. - They fail to tell what the correlation between browser and IQ is, only their biased hypothesises based on nothing. ... Now I've come to the conclusion that I can think of dosens of reasons why nobody should believe this and that this is just stupid. From IE users everywhere I would like to offer you our thanks.
