I guess Opera's about to get a flood of people Isn't IE with the Chrome Frame pointless and you could just get Chrome straight out?I doubt anyone is dumb enough to flood Opera based solely on this "study". Another reason to continue using opera ^_^ okay maybe people will use this as a reason to use Opera... oh my.

if a doctor (which i'm assuming has a godlike IQ) uses a computer every 3 days for microsoft word and IE6 to send an email, has NOTHING to do with IQ.... it's all about tech knowledge.... release a study with THAT information, THEN tell me how much IQ has to do with it......

I don't think smart people would take online IQ tests because smart people should know that there are no legit online IQ tests.... Then why did some people score over 100? Clearly some smart people (or judged as smart by the test) took the test.

I use IE mostly so I dont have to re-teach my family how to use the browser. That and I dont do much surfing anyway.

I can't say I find people who willfully use a browser people have been trying to kill off for years due to a total lack of compatibility with many even semi-modern technologies and tons of security vulnerabilities to be particularly smart... The general trend seems to be the less "mainstream" the browser is, the smarter the average person using it. It's not really surprising when you think about the average user using something convenient versus the supernerds trying to milk the best performance + security out of things.

It's not really surprising when you think about the average user using something convenient versus the supernerds trying to milk the best performance + security out of things. This is true to a really, really small extent, but there are plenty of smart people (high IQ) that aren't especially tech savvy and don't really care much for which browser works slightly faster. Plus Safari is the default apple browser, are you saying people that buy Apple computers are generally smarter than people that buy PCs? Because that completely conflicts with your argument (smart people want the better/faster/more customizable system). The only one that *kind of* makes sense are the IE6/8 types; then again, what about old people that really don't use their computers much, are all old people dumb? It's just really, really difficult to take a "study" that shows a disparity of 40 AVERAGE IQ between different browser users, do you have any idea how ridiculously huge that is? That's the difference between a stubborn christian redneck with no education and a PHD graduate. On average. It's just... ridiculous.

Lol, nice job inserting a stab at Christians in a post about computers. Also I think you are confusing level of education with intelligence (not the same thing).

1. People don't actually read the paper. "Koreans use IE. Are they dumb?" - Study specifically says English speaking countries. 2. People don't understand averages. "I know this smart guy who uses IE" 3. People still feel posting correlation =\= causation adds anything to the conversation. A real complaint you might want to start with is the fact they used online IQ tests sampled from numerous countries.

But that has been brought up just about as many times as correlation =\= causation, I'm not sure what else can be added to this topic.
