He'll receive the maximum penalty of 21 years if convicted of having carried out a terrorist action, although taking into account the severity of the incident he might be placed into involuntary commitment if there is a risk of repeating the crime or if he is otherwise considered very dangerous. Involuntary commitment mustn't last longer than 21 years as a single conviction but it can be appealed for extension indefinitely for five year periods.

Despite your expression of condolences, your post is completely devoid of respect. Considering what you just wrote, I'm hard-pressed not to interpret the "88" in your nickname too much. You better stop posting.

I didn't really elaborate because I didn't think I needed to.

What this individual did was disturbing and sickening, that however does not mean I am not entitled to my own political views.

I in no way condone what was done, and do feel sympathy & wish my deepest condolences for everyone affected by this incident.

I wouldn't be quite sure about that.
People who are against the spread of islam/multiculturalism in Europe won't change their opinion because of this massacre, where as he certainly did manage to draw some additional attention to those problems.

Considering that your very first comment to the shootings was that this "was the wrong way to bring attention to these problems within Europe" with the condolences following afterwards, the 88 might as well have meant something else.

It apparently didn't - fine - which still doesn't mean this is the right place to express your views. You're certainly entitled to them, whatever they might be, but that doesn't change the fact that your post was, as I said earlier, lacking respect.

-----

On another note, I had just found the time to read several of the translated blog posts and some exerpts from that 1.500 page monstrosity. The cold, cynical ramblings of the shooter and the terrified reports of the shocked youths make for a horribly chilling combination.

This reminds me of the story of the unabomber. He had send bombs to important people who worked at airfields and universities. Eventually the FED's gave in to his demands and posted his manifesto in a newspaper or something. Than his brother recognized the manifesto and turned to the police and the unabomber whas caught shortly after. He stated that the reason for sending the bombs to people whas because he wanted attention for his manifesto and claimed that if he didnt kill no one would pay attention. Unfortunatly he got what he hoped for since I read the damn thing. So im guessing this massacre whas done for the same reason, to generate attention for his manifesto :/

This really doesnt help islamic community at all, another step back now. It is sad that it is just a small parties of islamic (extremists) who does this shit : (, I wonder what kind of this world would be without any religion?

I agree in retrospect what I said was a little insensitive, and a thread about this tragedy isn't a place to try to spread ideas. If you look at my other post I make that clear.

"No need to get into it here, out of respect for the families and severity of the recent incident.

Just upsetting someone would act in this way and think it's beneficial to anyone."

I didn't come in here for a debate. This was a tragic event, that was senseless and did not need to occur.

The end.

Um, this was not done by an islamist group. It was done by some neo-nazi motherfucker. Please read the OP, a newspaper, a newsite.

I just browsed over the manifesto with my roommate. We both were shocked about the rhetorical and logical strength of this document. I mean, look at the literature used; also the points about the Frankfurt School.

I just watched the video and I have this creeping suspicion that it contains some truth (while I don't even want to), even if his methods are completely wrong. This could be pure poison indeed. Why do I get the feeling this wasn't the last of it.

Gah I feel ashamed now... but I can't help it. It's probably just my lack of knowledge on the matter.

Eye for an eye and the world will go blind.

Thank you.

I wasn't trying to make an ambiguous/disingenuous post, sorry it came off that way.

Just read some of the manifest. I really have to warn you - this is a really hateful but scarely well-writtened.

This is exactly what he wanted the whole time and let us hope that it does not inspire other young people. It is that scary.

Dude, NO ONE, really, NO ONE, wants your "ideas". Who are you to come to this thread an make posts like that? People are greving. Some even knew people who died there. And you really think anyone wants anyone here who is open for those "ideas" and sees those "problems"? Are you sane?
