More? Are there already laws against it? Forgive me if this is an ignorant question, I don't know any norwegian laws. Would you know if it's like Germany, where everything Nazi related is banned?
Or?

That blog post and picture are heartbreaking

Not for anything, but sharing everything you are watching onto facebook for a couple of hours in a row is pretty creepy. The guy seemed to have had a life, but was thrown off... Pretty typical gamer even. Rlly sad story, sadder part is nothing will be learned from this.
Yes, that worries me. The media is always so quick to latch onto gaming, and clearly this guy did do a lot of it, level 85 WoW raider and a guy into CoD and Esports. I really, desperately hope that gaming doesn't get scapegoated for this insanity, but with the prominence of stuff coming out in such a preliminary search I think it might be too much to hope...

Yea, most likely the media will blame gaming.

If only I understood what was being said Please translate for us after it's over?

Ugh, the annoying part is that since he's alive Norwegians are going to have to see this losers face a million more times in the future. Say what you will but i was personally glad the US just shot Bin Laden in the face and dumped him in the ocean - it saved people from alot of bad memories.

Just reading about what happened is sending chills down my spine.

In this case it's probably for the better that the American media isn't paying too much attention, ours is the worst at over-sensationalizing and playing the blame game.
I'm oddly having very little emotional reaction to this besides not wanting to see this guy tortured or killed, I really don't think there should be more violence even if he deserves it (which he does)

I don't get how the two correlate........at all.
Hundreds of millions of people are into gaming and they dont go on killing spree's.
I bet the guy ate at McDonalds before, that's probably why he did it -_-''
My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and family members.

Prayers to all those affected by these horrible events...

honestly yeah, I doubt it. If anything, they'll blame his political inclinations.

Well I am no expert and I do not know of specifics laws, but I have heard the law goes pretty far against Nazis. The thing is this guy is not a Nazi, so I am just wondering what will happen now in Norway.
If we are going to get a Patriot Act here in Norway too.

"Utøya" - the island have an area of ~120 000m² / 1291669 sq ft for those of you who looked at the pictures and wonder the size.

yep, that's about the gist of it. It's what happened with virginia tech and columbine. Now there's a precedent.
I think a previous poster is right though, the NEU media are generally the sanest in the world, I don't think local coverage is going to harp on it much, but you can bet plenty of anti-gaming groups will and try and get some kind of sick profit out of this as they have before.

The PM just said he was scheduled to be at the island in a couple of hours to perform a speech in front of the young there. Obviously, that's not going to happen.
