Hijack a plane to norway F YEA You'll get extradited back to the US and you'll serve your prison sentence back home. I'm curious, what if the charge is murder? Will Norway extradite to a country with capital punishment?
He'll live on in a max security prison, probably with better standards then most people in the world, probably for the rest of his life.

Not to harp on the topic... but seriously, that "jail cell" is 10 times nicer than the dorm i had in NYC that I'm still paying off to this day...

The video and pictures are highly disturbing, I dunno why some people are so heartless and do kind of sick stuffs! Be strong Norway! you can do it!
|
for anyone who is in Norway: I understand completely what this feels like for you, I live not far from Washington DC and the pentagon also I know how it is to have utter chaos around and not know whats happening ( in case i am being unclear I am referring to 9/11) and let me just say how I hope everyone you know is okay and that this fucker gets locked up for life

Interesting how his name is Conservatism. His political views even influenced the name he chose in WoW.

PM reassuring that the government is still completely active, despite most of their offices, including his has been completely destroyed.
|
This is all very disturbing. A piece of me wishes I hadn't looked at the pictures from the incident, but now it can't be unseen. I hope the number of those affected is fewer than it appears, and that no other events like this happen for a long time...

I can't take any more now. The revulsion at these abominable acts have broken my spirit and I must spend time in a stupor or contemplation until I can accept the horrifying nature of what has occurred.
My heart goes to Norway.

Threat level has not been raised, which is a very Norwegian reaction to this.

Wow, I even read his posts in that thread (it's only like 4 pages' worth) - what's more interesting is that he seems like a really, really nice guy. A lot of people seemed to have fun playing with him, and given the way he posts, it seems like he had a lot of fun playing his game as well. It's so mind-bloggling to know that despite all that apparent niceness, he's actually a cruel/psychopathic/heartless mass murderer. You'd think somebody capable of that just would not seem normal - let alone downright NICE - not even 2 years ago.

This may be a biased view being an American, but I fail to see how people from Norway are okay with something like this? He takes away the lives of so many individuals yet he gets to live in better accommodations than a fair amount of people in the world?
Simply for the hopes of rehabilitating him in order to one day be released back into society and contribute to society once again?
My heart goes out to those directly affected by this.

PM:"For meg er Utøya mitt ungdoms paradis, som i natt ble forvandlet til et helvete." Utøya is my youth's paradise, that overnight was transformed into hell.

Yeah really. Like I said in one of the closed threads, I hope this guy has like a brain tumor or something that made him go nuts, because the idea of a pure, top of the charts psychopath being able to be all chummy with buds on a WoW forum kinda scares me.

Probably was a straight up decent man too, until somewhere along the road something went very wrong.

Because they probably built their prisons with rehabilitation in mind. There's different philosophies about criminals, one is they should be "punished" the other is they should be "rehabilitated". I understand nobody is going to be happy he gets a "comfy" cell, but all the other criminals also get the "comfy" cells which benefits their rehabilitation (according to the second view), which is the point of prisons except for extreme cases.

"Every killer lives next door to someone."
The press release seems to be over now.

I feel that the stance the government etc is trying to take, and display to the public is summarized very well by this post on page 2:
I am of those that believe we should never make exceptions... If we truly believe in the ideals of our society, one madman, no matter his crimes, should not move us away from our own ideals. If we do, then the killer not only destroyed lives, he also destroyed our way of life.
If we are willing to change our laws to punish this man differently than we have since ww2, that gives him yet another victory doesn't it? Personally, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this, I think he deserves way way worse. Hopefully he'll get put into solitary til it drives him fucking nuts. Seems like the best thing we can manage here in Norway. I also highly doubt he'll have a very good time with the other inmates, to put it mildly.
