Does anyone know anything about the incident where the police took him? I haven't seen anything about it. Did the police just show up and he lay down his weapons and go peacefully? I can't even imagine that he'd go that easily without putting up a fight. Yeah i've been watching all threads regarding this incident and had the news on ALL night since and seen/learned nothing of how the arrest went down :S Also on the news I just noticed, it looked like a shot from a helicopter, it was hard to tell but it looked like the police were formed behind a van, maybe 10 of them and then there was a man seperated about 15-20 feet away on the other side of the van (he looked like police obviously but he wasn't with them behind the van) it was hard to tell what exactly we were looking at and the news don't tell us what is going on in the actual shot..they just show it and expect us to know -____-.

Did he run out of ammo? Did he just surrender? Was he tackled by security? Why didn't they shoot him if he had a gun shooting wildly? etc.

But i mean, do we know much about the Norwegian Prison System? Can someone account for if it's largely solitary confinement (which i feel like would be pretty brutal after a few years of being basically by yourself) Or if it does in fact function more like a rehab center where there are social times and counselors etc to help facilitate the rehab process?

From what I can read it says that some are still missing, can't stop imagining some 13 year old kid in chock, still hiding somewhere on the island to scared to come out... Also in 30 min. from when this was posted, the PM and chief of police will update their official statement.

Even if he is kept in jail on a technicality (he is "unsafe" which he clearly is), it doesn't feel right that he would be convicted of the same crime and get the same sentence as a 'normal' killer. Also, aren't Norway prisons famous for not being horrible? How could you extract justice for even one of these people from him? his suffering could never equal that of those he killed and their relations even if that was justice. Norway's prisons are not designed to inflict suffering on their inhabitants, but to keep them away from people they could harm. It's a good system, they are good people. Perhaps even this guy, in some ways, was a good man, but what he did today was monstrous and society can never trust him amongst them again. He should never see freedom again, never have the chance to do what he did again. That's what the prison is for. Not vengeance, just certainty.

Therefore he should live in the equivalent of a 3star hotel room? Would he even get a computer like that other guy has? I can understand having these kind of cells for rehabilitation, for when you know you aren't going to ever let somebody else he shouldn't get the same treatment. Unless ofc you think there is a day that will come when it's ok to release this person.

I mean, Here's a situation where what looked like a police officer opened fire on you and your friends. And now the police are calling for you to come out? I feel like that's the exact thing i'd be terrified of doing, and i'd personally stay hidden for a while longer. I feel like to expect anyone to do anything else, would be rash and dangerous. I hope they turn up okay
