Removing them when they hurt is reasonable. What he was talking about is removing them just because they could hurt lateron, which is kind of ridiculous in my opinion. But apparently a lot of people do it.

The growth pattern of ones' molars can be determined through dental X-rays, so it isn't that ridiculous.
