Well, while the US criminal system is still largely about retribution, more civilized countries understand than the main goal should be rehabilitation, if at all possible, so we are really trying to refrain from throwing the stones.

When someone slaps me I turn the other cheek. When someone takes my wallet I give them the key to my house.

Justice is blind, it's not supposed to make any sense.

I'm fairly certain that the prison system is made to make cents.

American justice isn't blind, at least not to race

Also, blind doesn't mean stupid.

Also, after seeing scores of people waiting in line to plead guilty to the judge for going 5mph over the speed limit and running stop signs in order to reduce the $200 fine to $80 (cause pleading not guilty is just too much of a hassle), I'm inclined to agree.

Question :
Is it true that women pregnant in the USA have no Maternity leave ? (not sure of the term i mean when she's gonna give birth the employer has to let her staying away & keep give her a salary for a specific duration ) This is quite strange, i believe they are the only one country in this case
|
|
|
Depends on where you work too, at my work they get 6 months.
|
Some places give no maternity, some give a lot. Paternity leave is one that's even harder to get.
|
Yeah, "maternity leave" means different things to different people. Like there is a lot more unpaid leave available (which most people can't afford), than paid leave.
Only about 12% of the private sector (non-government jobs) workers in the US have access to paid maternity leave.
Besides health problems, it's a great revenue generator for crowdfunding sites.

What's the point of this practice? If she's a pretty women she's used to people looking at her, one more person added to all the people who already glance at her that day won't be a blip in her radar.
@JimmiC
Why does your wife care who you look at? Why would you care what your wife looks at? Why does it matter who your partner looks at to begin with?
I mean, if looking at other people is what breaks your partnership it sounds like a fairly shitty partnership. Whoosh.

Casual Misogyny isn't funny just because you like making those types of jokes.

It's so funny to me that you are clearly the biggest sexist on the site. And I believe that is why you get so "offended", most of your stuff offends the women you think need protecting. It makes me both sad and giggle, which is hard to do.
Funny how my comment about telling Dangermousecatdog that there is no reason he should turn his eyes away from girls and my comment that it shouldn't matter to your partner who you look at is my defending women. For the most part--I'm defending you. There is no reason you should be treated like that by your partner, there is no reason Dangermousecatdog should be afraid to look at women, there is no reason either of you should be oppressed into thinking that treating women like ISIS treats women is the norm. You're allowed to look at them, they're allowed to look at you. If you were not so oppressed by western cultures you would not feel bad about that.

You can call it whatever you want. The more you wish to normalize it the more of yourself you reveal to us.
