I gotta say, i am amazed at how many people not only fail to notice the actual point when stuff goes wrong in the fake proof, but are also very convinced that they totally know what the problem is, despite being completely wrong.

Disclosed is a shitty paint pic alluding to what I'm talking about. http://imgur.com/hpjLU1B Totally stealing this

The sum of all the segments of that staircase is equal to 2. The line next to it is equal to sqrt(2). It's better to say what Cascade said: that while the number of stairs goes to infinity, the length of each stair goes to 0, resulting in fact in lim (stairs -> infinity) length_of_staircase = sqrt(2). And not, as the original" proof" implies, 2.

So yes, be careful around infinities. ![]() For those still not convinced, this is the most accurate explanation. An infinite sum of something decreasing to 0 can give anything. eg : 1/1 + 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/4 + 1/5 + ... = +inf but 1/1² + 1/2² + 1/3² + 1/4² + 1/5² + ... = pi²/6

Seams like a ok statement. People use it as a counter-point to #BLM for whatever reason. It's more that it's a stupid and unnecessary thing to say, as no one was saying no lives matter, nor does saying blm mean other lives don't matter. Imagine if someone was having a conversation about food and said "I think Italian food is really good". Then another person said "all food is good".

Seams like a ok statement. In isolation it is of course a fine statement. But in the context of black lives matter movement, yes, the two things you said.

Seams like a ok statement. Falls equivalence. Black Lives Matter spawned from the high amount of police killing of Blacks. It is the specific statement that Blacks are being killed, seemingly en mass. When you say "All Lives Matter" you are creating a false equivalence wherein you are suggesting that the plights of blacks are equal to the plights of non-blacks, essentially pretending that racism and discrimination does not exist. Its a direct stance that you believe that black people being shot by police is okay and normal and is simply part of life that has to be accepted.

I'll add to that very good explanation that false equivalence is sadly a much used tool of conservative/reactionary movements to fight against their opponents, thus it's hardly surprising to see them use All Lives Matter.
