I also normally wear jeans and a wool jacket. Why? Because 1) I´m in a school, not a bank. If my pupils respect me only for my outfit but not my skills then I should get a new job. And those pupils see me for a longer time than just one day. If they can´t figure out if my teaching, character and ability is more important than my dress code then I can´´t help those people. 2) Short sleeves are more practical. Onion principle: I can adjust the amount of cloth to my level of physical activity and the temperature in the room. I would never trade that flexibility for a long sleeve which makes me look dumb anyways.

Is this normal in the US? Do high level athletes usually high five fans or they keep the distance? I feel bad for the boy :/

Home teams that win are more likely to do it than away teams that lost (for example) Also, some players are more willing to do it than others. Personal opinion, dick move that not ONE of them did it.

I'm guessing the guy is waaay further away from the athlete that he appears Also all the athlete we see have already passed by the guy, so maybe he got his high five prior to this image =)

Ok so i know there are a lot of fake parfums out there but I remember watching in Discovery channel a show called "Science of Sex" (Or something like that) where they made an experiment and supposedly the majority of the girls picked the guy that used the pheromones fragrance.

The simple is they don't work, and if they did work, they wouldn't work in the way you think.

If I merge two gmail accounts (talking about keeping them both but reading and replying from a single account), do storage adds up or not? Do emails from account B have their 'private' 15 gigabyte or if I read them from account A they add up? Other question: why do not professional weightlifters try first the heaviest weight? It seems like common knowledge to me that the more reps you do, the more tired you become so it seems inefficient.

I reallize the irony of what I'm going to say here, but I figured I'm in the right thread: How do you pronounce the name of the guy in your quote about knowing how to read?

I'd be very surprised if the placebo doesn't overpowering any real effect by at least an order of magnitude here. ![]() Oh, and all experiments they do on TV shows are horrible. I've seen so many shows where they have their question, go out and ask experts, the experts say that there is no consensus, and the results are not really clear. The host will then go and do their own experiment, pretending that they can solve it where all others have failed. Then they do their horribly design underpowered "experiments" full of nonsensical confounding factors, they will do they completely bogus analysis of the meaningless data, and present the flawed results in a horrendously biased way to confirm whatever the host had decided was the truth before he even decided to do the show at all. Then they pretend that they have done science, and go and broadcast it, and people watch and swallow that happily while in their next breath saying that there is no solid evidence of global warming, and that vaccination is dangerous. I'm not bitter at all.

I think there are some fragrances that certain girls prefer, and some scents that they dislike. Just like for men. And that's pretty much it in terms of using cologne imo. I don't think you'll have a huge edge over anyone else due to pheromones per se, but it's a nice accessory if you have the money as long as you don't drown yourself in it.

Your not allowed to shift down in weight during competition so if you attempt a weight at your max and fail you cannot then try a lower weight, giving you a big risk of not scoring at all.

In mammals, pheromones trigger a response through a specialized organ: the vomeronasal organ (VNO). The organ itself exists in humans, but is severly atrophied : 135 out of 140 genes identified for its functions have been severly degraded and the organ doesn't develop past the early stages of the embryo. However, a few pheromones in other species are detected by the main olfactory epithelium which survives in humans. Main documented changes you might expect if pheromones do work (seen in other mammals): - Trigger of earlier puberty in nearby females - Trigger of female ovulation (unsure how this would work on humans since the ovulation cycle is permanent anyway) - Trigger of a miscarriage if you are not the father of the embryo - Trigger a "mating posture" in the female if she is ovulating at the time - Trigger an aggressive behavior in other males
