First off I want to say that this is my first thread, and that I made it mostly to experiment and stuff, so be nice and please tell me if it's shit.
I find it funny how extremely ''creative'' people are on the interwebs, and you see it all the time in gamertags and stuff like that. I always get cracked up good when I see try hard names like XxSn1p3r_Pr0d1gyxX and xXXElit3xGodxOfxCodXXx or Pr0xSn1p3rG0DxXx.
So what is the funniest/most tryhard gamertag you've seen?
And FYI, there is a history behind my name, so it doesent count :3 I was an age of conan fan, and I made it to troll WoW players
Yeah those aren't tryhard gamertags, just little kids. If you have played Gamebattles for CoD, you'll know what tryhard gtags really are. They always choose some stupid word and then mess it up with alternate caps and x's or z's. So something like x ReFleXzz or o CluTchZz o, or AniMosiTyz v2 etc.
I'm surprised there was no mention of "Ninja" "Shadow" "Dragon" or "Killer" in your OP.
Although to be honest I don't have much room to mock the gamertags of others... Flanlord may be nice for originality in that it has yet to ever be taken in any game I've played, but it doesn't really get much for creativity... or making sense.
I wanted to swap to Fractalligator after a few Day[9] dailies, but there are just too many websites and games to change my tag on now. I am stuck.
I always liked the WoW names where it would be very spec/build specific, and a couple weeks after making that character they weren't playing that spec/build. (Shadow priest named Bubblznthings, the Holy paladin named Retforlife etc.)
I think xXShadowXNinjaXx was pretty up there though... I was more shocked to actually see it outside of a joke about gamers than anything... looking back I wonder if it was a joke.
i know console shooters are generally looked down upon on this site, but my god the people that play it are even more retarded. I was once in a lobby and I swear to god, there were three people with almost identical gamertags, it was like iiiSNiiiPeZZZ, iSniiipEZzzZ and iSnIpErZzZ or something lol. I don't get why people do it, do they think it looks cool?

Thank god I don't play these games you are referring to and so have no idea wtf anyone is talking about...
Are "gamertags" associated with xbox or does it mean any game handle? And why are people using "tryhard" like it's an adjective or something...
Also...

Who the hell does that? Gamers referencing classic literature huh? My TL handle does that, but my SC2 handle doesn't, and I'm sure 99.9% of people won't get the reference anyways...
I remember way back when I played Halo2, there were soooo many people named Master Chief/Master cheef/ Spartan/Spratan and any mispelled version of either of those. It was horrible!
On May 29 2011 03:43 Skee wrote: When people try to hard to sound smart by referencing older or classic literature that they have no interest in or haven't read.
lol. Anything under the column of ---DankBudz420-- bAwNgHiTzYo420 etc. is hilarious. Saw a dood on PSN the other day simply named Thor (with crazy characters used to spell it out). Painfully unoriginal, and trying oh so hard.
My friend and I always joke about these xbox live try-hard gamertags. We'll ask them "Hey, what's with all the kisses in your name? (referring to the 'xXx') oh! are you a girl?" and then rage ensues. Cant count how many times we've used that joke. never gets old : )
XBL names where they alternate caps, spam X's, use numbers instead of letters.... and then when that have all this itz and I name I, or MLG Name when they know shit all about MLG and are terrible at the game.... TT
I used to play Gears of war on XBL and oh my god was it clouded with tryhard names. For true inspiration look at anyone from clans like iTz, xT etc. A quick search shows the fragmovie "xT - XpLiCiT TaLeNTz" ..says it all.
i think the worst ones are always the sephiroth ones. On any wow server there's at least 4 different spellings of sephiroth, i remember sepritoh, seph, sephinroth and a few sephiroths with various accents over the vowels just on auchindoun-eu. Not enough facepalms in the world.
Back in the days of msn everyone was -=666BloodMaster=- and the girls STILL TODAY pick fucking retarded shit like "pinkcute3" "flowergurl69" "~~_princess_~~
A buddie of mine has a smurf accout named fappycandiru....you can figure the fappy part out but candiru is a kind of fish that swims up your penis and put spikes in ur penis? somthing like that....pretty fucked IMO Maybe it would be cooler if it was XxXFappyCandiruXxX
In L2 people used the name llllilliliiililllilillll For it's functionality when PKing people people wouldn't be able to target you using commands. But it was also a bitch for your friends to PM you haha.

Not really it's just one decent word and his clan tag.
Steam lets you use characters that aren't part of the normal latin alphabet, and you ended up with people using the Greek rho as a p or chi as an x. Then they'd pick accented letters over regular ones and it was the funniest thing when you'd go against a team that used character maps.
my name was so classic on XBL, I used the auto name generator and it gave me "sadmushroom." Not knowing that this was a "loser's" ID, i had to play through hundreds of games with xXdArKsLaYeRXx and SSJVeGeTa look alikes teasing me for a silly id, ohhh adolescence.
also, i love how some people in CoD1 and 2 put more effort into making their IDs and clan tags then actually playing and practicing. i recall one conversation with some RL friends where i told them that people would remember them if they were really good, not if they had cool looking names and colors. they then told me that nobody wants to to remember an ugly name, and booted me out of vent..

Aw come on dude, everybody's been 12 once in their lives. I had some crappy gamertags in my time (back then, we called them nicknames) and when I look back I can laugh at myself.
there was a guy searching for a clan he said "hey im searching for a team, but please dont respond if your team has dragon dark lord knight or defenders in the name"
and some other guy said
"oh hey im the leader of the darkdragonknightdefenders we have a teamspeak and we are some very funny guys"
i still burst out laughing thinking back to that name xD

If you have the skills to back it up, any name is fine. It's only annoying when people suck (or even if they have average skill) any they try to sound intimidating/serious.
Also, no one seems to mention how annoying the prefix, "Legit," is.
The only really, "tryhard," name I ever used was a one that my clan (the Cripples) told me I had to change it to. But to be a smartass, I made it, "ACrippledEagle," because I had just watched the episode of Scrubs where J.D. tries to jump from a couch to a counter to win a bet, and falls flat on his face. Not that try-hard, now that I think about it
I don't know if anyone else remembers, but when the mini series Band of Brothers was popular, half the people in every FPS were named Cpt. Winters or Lt. Speirs or some other character from the show. I played MoHAA at the time so it was doubly bad since it was a WWII game already.

Any kind of nicknames and/or clantags containing the following: Ninja, Killer, Assassin, Black, Dragon, Night, Knight, Order, Fragger, 1337/Elite, Owner, [any name of military special forces unit], X (a highlighted one or several), special forces or any kind of national tag (such as [ger]) usually are a) young kids b) bad players
exeptions exist, such as German XlorD who chose his name when he was young. However, once he went pro it sticked to him, so when he grew embarassed of it and tryed to change it to "Ixi" (his nickname made from his nickname, used by fans) he was unsucessful.
Oh man, the XxXx and Dragon Killer Phantom whatever isn't the worst. It's the colors man. Quake had people using the worst color combinations and whnevr you played on a clan server and everyone had the same colors. omg.
I've never really understood online names and aliases. I must prefer someones real name instead. I think it's one of the reasons gaming isn't taken very seriously. But more on topic, anything referencing drugs just makes me facepalm.
Generally anyone who takes a name from a well known established lore character or famous players.
Any variation of Inuyasha, Arthas, Illidan, Legolas or Sephiroth are not original or cool. I don't mind if people make references with their names, but c'mon try to be a little creative.
Not exactly a gamertag, but we have a one-man metal magazine coming out every 2-10 months here in Denmark called "xBrutalized Honestyx" written in english, set up in word, with the most irrate and angry reviews I have ever seen. It is awesome.

Kinda sure you are wrong. It's FWD cars that don't officially drift, because they are steering with the same wheels that give them any acceleration. Not only that but to "drift" in an FWD you have to e-brake. You can slip drift in an AWD car. Impreza's, Evo's, and Skylines are commonly used in drift competitions and have been for years.
But yes these kinds of names are stupid in my opinion. Especially the drug reference ones.

Back in the days, assassins in maplestory were stereotyped for having naruto names like oOonaruto123oOo I always liked names that were "originals" like 1 word names so i tried to make one in sc2 asap but then i realized u can have more than one name that's same x.x
Was playing gears 1 annex yesterday and everyone who joined our room had a randomly generated name like limabean321. Swear the worst people play that game now just sit and lancer from spawn.
anyone with 420 or more then one x in there name piss me off aswell. Think these are the guys who blindifre 805 times with the sniper go 2-15 and post a montage on youtube so everyone thinks there pro. .
anything, with numbers in place of letters, i dont know if its try hard, but it makes me laugh, i also think anything wih xXx is pretty tryhard. that or something like Aldaris, and your a protoss player, and you have the aldaris portrait T.T
Some people say my name is kind of tryhard. I don't think so and it certainly wasn't the intent. I think of its kind of internet-classy, a throwback to names filled with numbers. Alternates are my0wnr4pture, or myownrapture on b.net. Numbers aren't always trashy (see: Day9).
Tbh this thread isn't really 'tryhard gamertags' this thread is pretty much "bad gamertags" or "my old gamertag(s)".
The xXx gamertags or Wolf/Sniper/Slayer/etc with sHifTinG letters are not tryhard, just bad usernames that 12 year olds think are cool. I mean, do you really think all the XBL people with the username xXxSN1P3RL0RDxXx are tryhards?
SlayerS_'Boxer' is pretty try hard. How didn't I see this one mentioned? Some of them I think are kinda funny, the people with 420, 1337, or 1234 at the end are definitely at the bottom of that list.

Because you don't read threads before making assumptions..

Names I remember from WoW (some even were my RL friends):
GagsTheMan JonnyTwoHats MageHunter (was a rogue in vanilla I pvp'ed with) OldGreg ManKiller InFlame Arthas ... dayamn... most tryhard name in WoW, I guess ((one kindda funny though, was my troll friend going into blizz's rules where it clearly says, you cannot call yourself stuff like Neo2000 ... Then he names his character Neototusind (Neo2000 spelled out in danish... Every time he needed a name he went into the threat about banned named. Also made PovlPimp, Nuclearatron and simular names))
I never really loved those names, where you just smack words (or even sentences) together to form a name... And yeah, Killer, Shadow, Dark, Satan, Ninja and random xXx shouldn't even be allowed to have in your nick...

On Topic:
The names which annoy me, are stuff like Own5u, Pwn3er, and other dumb 1337-speak influenced names that seem like they're made by 13 year olds trying to look threatening :p
I miss the times when people were creatively original with the alias they would be using in games / forums......yknow like "Lomak" =). There are a few of us out there, but we are few and far between.

Fagdolf Hitler
I sometimes wonder what point people are trying to make with their IDs.
Personal favourites include fellow TLer SirGling.
Edit: Just remembered, a couple of years ago, an engineer I worked with asked for my Steam details so he could add me as a friend. I thought, "He's a lovely guy, a bit quiet, but genuinely helpful and always friendly." A few days go by, I completely forget about the whole thing until I'm dug into a game of Day of Defeat (you know when you get really into a game and forget everything else):
in wc3 there were alot "Demonhunter666" or "blademaster420" games, anything with 420 in the name usually pretty bad. or just numbers like "300" etc. all bad players.
My brother and I use Fanglord and XtremeKnight1, respectively.
Somewhat less OT, is it just an Australian/New Zealand thing to include your nationality in your gamer tag? I see an awful lot of cringe-worthy "AuzziSniper" variants.
killer instinct was the first tournament i won. and some terrible gaming service along time ago said i had to have number and a capital in my username. Then later had you enter a game name, but didnt realize it as they werent clear, kind of a play on the whole have a number stuff in your password, but epic fail. so i became KiF1rE... the 1 is also kind of a reference back to my FPS days. i came up with this name back when i was like 12 and just stuck with it.

I remember 10 years ago when I played age of empires UMS games online, and leet was 100% standard, so no one even questioned it. Nowadays when I see it, I generally assume that the person is under 15 and just adapted it from other people. I don't think it's a matter of people thinking it looks super gosu awesome epic, it's just what they're used to. Looking back, the names were ridiculous though. I'm glad BNet 2.0 IDs are limited to letters.
I don't find an issue with all of the weed references found in MOST gamertags (maybe it's because I myself am I smoker). It's only when someone's purposely trying to be cool and only smokes because they think it's cool that it makes me mad. Like, I have friends who have weed references in their name, and it ends there. I'm fine with that. If I see someone who's name is xXx42oiTzW33dBluntK1iLl3rxXx and their motto, bio, location, and name are all just weed jokes that I'm annoyed. There's NO WAY that that person has the motor skills to play video games AND smokes enough to justify all of that shit.
I used to play XBL pretty hardcore on halo 3 and you would always see the same sort of mold on all the names..iTz, xx ......xx, .....iz LegiT, 4 shot BR and the list goes on. And also there are some words that people would love to put in their gamertags like reflex or virus
I'd say it's all the flanges that try and pick cool 'neo' sounding akas. This is especially common on brood war, where guys get motivated make a smurf aka with a new fancy sounding name thinking it will make some sort of difference. Names I'm referring to are like: BlackSummer RedSwan AloneIWeep
Just seriously, stop with this bullshit. It's incredibly annoying and makes you seem like an angsty 16 year old.
Get over yourselves people they are just screen names no one cares. I blame this thread on Tastosis. They are always harping on having these so called fantastic screen names and ragging on korean names. Artosis sounds like some sort of cold or virus you get in the winter time and tasteless sounds fresh out of the mind of a bad ass 13 year old. Aside from the "XXXs1nperxzxzx" type names they are all about the same, may as well be numbers.
Names like these make me happy that I quit Call of Duty. At least in this community names like that are frowned upon as opposed to seen as being "pro."
Then again "pro" CoD and professional StarCraft are so different it shouldn't be that surprising haha.
This isn't a try hard name, but one of the funniest names I ever saw was JoeMama.
Now, I'm sure that somebody out there is saying, that's not funny at all. But when I played him I did a super cheesy build, and therefore I all-ined JoeMama.
I'm undecided on the topic of attributing ones name to a famous pro gamer. Sure you want to be like Boxer if you call yourself SlayerS_<anything>, but if you're not as awesome, you're just shaming the name!
Same with FruitPeeler. Whoever you are, you don't even play zerg, you play terran, and terribly at that.
My psn is xxmgsxx I was 11 and wanted it to look cool. But then I tried to change it but you cant. And I justed didnt want to make one since i was 10th prestige in cod4

i ALWAYS come across the name "sickshots" spelled with varying degrees of capitals or purposeful misspelling no matter what game I play.
I play LoL, there's someone with that name playing as Ashe. I play WoW, I see a hunter with that name. I play SC2, and I come across a "Sickxshotz" And none of them are ever mannered.

Pretty much anything that isn't a name. Nouns, Verbs, or anything remotely descriptive are just fairly annoying. For example, Artosis is a good tag, tasteless... not so much (though it's far, far, far, far, from the worst.)
I knew a guy who was upset when he finally got xbox live and found out the tag "Sniper" was taken.. that's what he used on LAN's.. I facepalmed a little. The random name generator when you create a new account on xbox live is awesome, I lapsed my actual account because I wasn't going to be in the country for a year, but activated a free trial month to play halo reach with my friends.. It gave me Furtiveleek07 which I thought was so ridiculous I kept it. It was a lot worse during Halo 2 when Xbox live first really took off, 1337spartansniper masterchief1337 etc Not sure if it's improved recently, haven't really played xbox live much since Halo 3 turned out to be totally wank.
Haven't played against anyone on SC on ladder whose name made me laugh / facepalm yet. Still time I guess.
my xbl handle is BodaciousPineapple, i just had to spell it all messed up because XBL said i could have only x amount of characters, my handle was forever scarred... Also the funniest one I've seen was sandycooch
uhhh does it count if someone has the same name as a pro player or anyone else in that matter? Because it counts as them being tryhard to be that player?

Aside from the "XXXs1nperxzxzx" type names they are all about the same, may as well be numbers.
So... you start out saying that people should not care about online IDs, but then you start hating on artosis and tasteless because of their IDs? -.-
I can't believe no one has said this yet (maybe I missed it?). People with "MLG" in their name ex: (MLGxXxPrOxXxSnIpEzxXx) or clan tag (ex: [MLG] xXxQwIcKxXxScOpEzFtWxXx) rocking a .83 kill/death ratio.
One that sticks out to me that i've seen is IgOt2MaNyH8rS or something like that.
I remember some kid i saw back when i played Runescape that had the username "XIm MLG SonX" who kept bragging about how good he is at Halo and how he plays it professionally. Nothing pisses me off more than prepubescent children and their stupid faggot ass tags

Those names were everywhere in RS, usually PKers who botted their accounts had those names cause they were harder to report.

Cus I saw a fake..., LiquidTLO
Oh god I hate those people. There are like 20 TLO's on Europe server, I have played 2v2 against probably 3 different mTwDimaga in diamond league 2v2 with no 1v1s played, and I always get just as pissed every time I see it. My nick is totally worthy of all question as well. Picked it cause I found it somewhere in wikipedia, changed it a little bit and thought it sounded cool. I think I just clicked away and found some demon in some religion called Euronymous. Sounds good tho imo ^^

Yeah WoW names where so bad, god i got tired of seeing shit like obamadin.
In WoW every ran around with a name stolen from some odd fantasy Book like Aedasle Andalea, Areaya, Aereaie, etc..
found that incredibly boring.
A friend of mine when we were young had no money and the 60€ for xblox live were really much and he names his account:
MonsterHalo001
He wanted to name it "Halo" but that was already taken and then xbox Suggested Monster and 001 as addon and he took both xD
I usually don't even read nicknames with xx or whatever symbols involved. I like cool names, not long though.
Btw, the funniest ones I know, I invented with my friend while we played Warhammer MMoRPG: + Show Spoiler +
Phavensussy / Pairyhussy
- two elven huntresses (troll alts), don't remember the class names properly.
On a serious note - my main was Rottenkross Blighteye (chosen) and he had, if I remember correctly, Rinai Bloodmist (disciple of khaine), besides that he had an Ork (choppa) alt + Show Spoiler +
Buttfukka
. With my alt Dissartabald Baldassard (marauder), we had a proper Kommandos team to decimate enemy ranks.
Great laughs with that game, played only month though, got bored to death
P.S. I don't consider MMoRPG nicknames as real/proper ones, since I use them individually for every character and every game. So my first statements don't really relate to that.
On my WOW free trial I was KevinGarnet. Felt like it fit in well with the archaic names of old everyone in that game used.
My PTR acct. name (and BW name) is IMBrisk, and on GOM I was GrackofGeese420. I got Artosis and John to rage a little bit in the old days when they used to read user questions.
well, my tag is noxboxforjesus, has kinda a back story but i wont get into it here, i just think its kinda funny, but my fave name ive seen was from a buddy of mine, it was thanksFEMA shortly after katrina hit, but he has since changed it

"SkylineDrifter"(cause, you know, AWD cars can drift) "MagnumProSniperX" "DarkAK74" "Billy420" "SirSmokesALot" "TokerM420"
=[
I dunno GTR, your's is different. You like just have 3 letters, it's at least somewhat mysterious, or ambiguous. At least you aren't SkylineGTRDrift4201337... That's more what I'm referring to
A friend of mine is called proxiSniper. I thought that was pretty wankerish, but it turns out proxi is the clan tag, and Sniper is his handle. They just end up douchebagish together.
SlayerS`BoneR did the job too.
XBL gamer tags prove the immaturity of the playerbase...watch your younger brother playing 360 Black Ops and just look at the games if you ever want proof. PS3 is better but not immune. F2P MMORPGs are terrible for it too.
my favorite is PoopFeast420. i love it when they take his questions on the GSL stream. artosis can never say his name without laughing, and it's just so ridiculous.
and i've stomped egIdra in teamgames soooooo many times. honestly, who is gonna think you're really Idra, with no 1v1 games played and you're like silver/gold in everything else.
The worst imo are names copied off pros or slightly modified versions, so many BoxeR's and TLO's etc. on bnet Otherwise some of the worst Ive seen involve xXx or xX on either side of the name, u see that and its pretty much given that the names gonna be terrible. Also irritating are the people whose names are like DayJ or thenumberj (I have seen both of these) and anything else based on some joke day9 or some other well known member of the community made.
God I remember one of my first CS handles as a kid was xXDeathsHunterXx
ahahaha to be 13 again... I used to think knowing spanish was super cool, and would translate lame ass names into spanish because it meant I was a mega badass. I also remember being in a D2X pvp clan that went by the tag "DarkWolves" Lolllllllll...
It's okay though. 24 years old and still using handles like ZombiesOMG, I guess I just don't take the name thing seriously.
Whatever you throw in from XBL, CoD, CS or whatever will never beat those names from when irc was the thing. Not even icq was there and instant messaging was unheard of.
Oh nostalgia. LOL was only known to old users of Usenet

Ultimate Cancer... i made it in unison with a friend who is now known as Hyper Herpes.
i encoutered the funniest name in vanilla wow (alterac valley) a retpala which was called 'actionklaus'. i still have to laugh when i think about it (retpalas where quite retardet back then)

Haha so glad you mentioned it. I was just thinking of my old nickname @$$@$$!|\|. That sure was hot and made me feel godlike. I think the clan tag was _.-+'*[p0!$oN]*'+-._ . I was very proud of that one.
For the most tryhard nicknames, you have to skim through Turkish CS or MMO players (both have an average age of 12). 7 out of 10 have the following words in their nicknames with letters 'g' and 'k' may be replaced by 'q' for no reason:
Dark King Lord Devil Evil Slayer Dragon . . .

FYI: Durchsicht means lookthrough or something like that. Sicht means sight, durch means through.
Like that "durchsicht", I used "VisionAssistantUser" for a good time. The word "VisionAssistant" comes from my whinings/BM in sc2/dota/BW. If I got ganked in NC in dota/enemy 1a2a3a4a'ed my unscouted base, I just say "nice vision assistant" or "which version of vision assistant do you use" accusing my opponent of maphacking.

I played the free2play Shooter Combat Arms for a year (under the name TheFinnGamer ofc), you see so many names involving pro, sinper, ninja, etc. I'm just going to the first 20 pages of the leaderboard and picking out the worst ones:
lllllln3sty B1mb4m1nk14 xIMMORTALx 5H0T_P3RF3CT Gangsterdk45 -PoSSeSSioN- And my favourite: xXx_ShAdOw_x

Same with FruitPeeler. Whoever you are, you don't even play zerg, you play terran, and terribly at that.
Pretty much anything with cApITaliZaTION or weird XxX[insert name here]XxX overkill, makes it hard to read, hard to pronounce, and as said, tryhard and pathetic. I'm not even sure that the underscore in my own name wasn't necessary or overkill.
First time I saw Azp. But that kid was freaking pro. but then i started seeing garbage like Tzk. To have 3 or less letters in your GT you have to be unreal.
My xbox live name is "Fatal x uK" from back when I was a juvenile playing Halo 2 - only play FIFA these days on the box so I wouldn't pay £8 to change it when I play people called iTz F1FAkINGZzx etc etc
how do you 5 pool? Do you start off by killing one of your drones?
i like the XXXXXXXX420 type names.. like my name was taken but not wit 420 after it. or the clever 024 discreet stoner who thinks we don't know it's 420 backwards =)

In broodwar you start with 4 workers,
namewise, hmm
theres not any specifics i can remember, but XBL, already stated in this thread is full of xXx's with some variation of the word snipe or owned. looks stupid
A while back when I took counter strike way too seriously, I frequently got trolled by an auto-sniper camping dipshit who went by a nickname which roughly translated into "the dreadful yeti". I tried to get him banned several times but no one seemed to listen. Needless to say it was rough patch in my life.
Oh wait, that's just not true. It was the other way around. Guess I was always a baller.

Oh shit...
I'll give you two guesses, just two.....................
Anyone that has a floating sperm in their name ~ or alternating caps. Luckily floating ~ isn't allowed in SC2 names, but that sure doesn't stop people from using it on forums~~!
Scanning my ladder:
FoOoYoOoYoO - no explanation necessary KillaMagilla - rhymes are awesome! June - Poor guy wishes he was July ShankeR - This isn't COD redpanda8 - All lowercase, arbitrary use of the number 8 (were there 7 other redpandas? doubtful)

I thought you couldn't use numbers in Battle.net names lol.
I like my new name I got in the beta, but as said before XBL gamertags are always hilarious to read, trying to read past 12 year olds' "l33tsp34k" takes me some time, the alternating caps and X's people use to try and make their worn out names like assassin, and ninja look original, is the problem imo
The worst are any involving "Sephiroth" or any variation thereof IMO.
Pretty funny story on the topic: my sister tried a few games of the original Call of Duty on PC and chose "x-sniper-baby-x" as her tag. Obvious this could be changed at any point, but my dad was far too lazy to ever bother and ended up just using the same name whenever he played, leading to a lot of chat-up attempts. Pretty funny.
More funny however, is when he got into a conversation about CoD at work with a coworker who mentioned that his nephew played a lot. The coworker asked what name my dad used so he could tell his nephew to keep an eye out for my dad. Not thinking, he told them he went by "x-sniper-baby-x".
I believe it ended in them singing "sniper baby, hurry down the chimney to me." to him, to the tune of the Christmas song.
Sometimes people comment on the "pro" in my nick, but as it turns out, it's just a contraction of my first and last name so the pro is "accidental" and I hadn't even considered the "double meaning" before I started playing SC...
to mock try hard names, me and my friends had alternate accounts on warcraft 3 named 69-dotapro-420, 69-hentaipro-420, etc. Always fun to read these out as if you don't understand how to read it.
Is my name tryhard? I'm into this genre of music described mainly as "freeform". So I took the name Freeform for a while. Then I thought it would be ingenious to replace the Free with a 3. So I don't think it's quite the same as gr8sk8r or similar ilk. I'm even considering a contraction to a simple 3F. Triple-Eff if you like.

3rd one in this list could be some azn person ( I know some old lady who has that name after romanization )
Hahahahahaha right after reading a few pages of this thread I was faced against some guy with a name with a bunch of xs and the letters were like ThIs xD
Anything with numbers in pretty much, you have a chance on the internet to come up with whatever name you want that you think would be cool but you chose "john629". What. The. Hell.

I remember all the world of warcraft arena boys all had names related to laughing in their names such as Cheeselol, chesselol, wutlol, hheheheheheheh, popjukelol, roflstomplolz etc.
Tryhard? Back in Wings of Liberty progamers created "barcode" names III|||II||II and shit so noone could know who they were and check their profiles or add them. Seemed super tryhard and borderline retarded to me.
