But I never read the books first so I still fail.
I also used to watch Ray William Johnson videos back when they were funny.

Also before Trolling became popular i guess. I often talked to people in a way to try to get a rise out of them if they were either talking/ asking really stupid question.

"You found a way to draw a line between the world and you faking your identity it's true did you think the word alternative was only meant for the likes of you?" If you draw your sense of self from the media you consume/hobbies you enjoy, it's not going to have a lot of integrity.

Colbert has made a living off it, as did the Ali G show. Let's just derail this thread into who was the first troll on television (and who watched them before it was cool).

I don't care about doing it before it was cool, but I hate seeing guys the same age as me who suck at these things... Nothing more awkward than seeing someone over 6 feet tall getting less than 1 inch off the ground with his ollie. It's like "well what the fuck ARE you good at then?" (probably picking up hot girls and getting good jobs and being outgoing, something I am not good at hahaha)

I was into electronic music (the breakbeat parents of dubstep, in fact) before dubstep existed. So what? Somebody was into it before I was too. And someone before them. Timeline doesn't really mean shit. I think that your real complaint is that some people are bandwagoners. And I feel your outrage. Bandwagoning is the single most destructive cultural phenomena with regards to spoiling wonderful things that I love. I'm sure far more articulate people could write whole essays describing why You have no idea how angry I am that all of the drum and bass production crews around here started throwing dubstep shows instead of dnb so they can cash in on the fucked up 18 year old shithead demographic. I completely agree. If only it were a real wagon, though.. Then we could tip it over and say, "fuck off"

I actually liked Facebook too, around the time when it was still mostly a student thing, it still required you to fill in your school details and all (but was open to everyone at that point I think). I was one of the first people in my country to register an account to keep in touch with some online friends. I actually liked it back in the day because the site layout was really simple and relaxing , and it was very unobtrusive (the exact opposite of what it is today). Dwarf Fortress, it was commonly referred on gamedev.net (a community I frequent) way before it had as big following as it has today. I think that The Hobbit is JRRT's greatest work and an all-round fantasy masterpiece (in before they make a movie). Finally, I was also one of the first activists in the Montenegrin independence movement. =)

Also to continue this thread; I liked the MLS before you like the MLS I liked Facebook and Myspace before you liked Facebook and Myspace I liked Starcraft before you liked Starcraft ![]() I liked Runescape before you liked Runescape I liked local bands before they get famous and everyone likes them Though It doesn't bother me when other people like what I do which apparently some people get mad at? who cares if you found it first its not yours...

Do you really have to flaunt your knowledge of a group before everyone else? Like a post on the first page said best, if you want to enter the conversation you can say, "Oh yeah I listened to them," or, "I used to play that," not, "I liked that before it was cool!" I don't get this mentality. Sure, at least with music, when artists get more popular they start making more songs for the general audience which often changes their songs ("he was good until he went mainstream"), but that's the only explanation I can think of. For example dubstep -- my friend (who was into it for a long while) told me about it last year around the same time a lot of people were finding out about it. Yeah there are those people who like sloppy sounding dubstep and make the bad, "this is so dirty that. . . " jokes, but at least the genre is getting more popular, so artists can be more successful and there can be more artists. And the good dubstep is still there and will always still be there. It doesn't just disappear because the genre becomes popular.

The one thing I played before it went super mainstream was Call of Duty...yeah like the original. Then this shitty expansion came out and we called the original game vcod (vanilla CoD). Then CoD2 came out and it was okay...then CoD4 came out (modern warfare) and all my friends are like "holy shit call of duty is so awesome" and by that time I was tired of it and barely even played it...now we have modern warfare 3 coming out, what a joke.
