Keep it civil guys.

Alright I am sick of warning people: Trolling, flame baiting, and derailing will result in insta bans.
The same goes for conspiracy theorists and stupidity generally.

Confirmation was as follows
- On-site DNA test which came back as 99% positive.
- photos of face sent to CIA and confirmed with photo analysis
- confirmed by 20 year old wife who live in pakistan.

This thread is specifically dedicated to the details surrounding the raid/his death.

Happiness about someone's murder should never be encouraged. If you think that's naive or whatever, you miss the point: because it is a principle to dislike it, it's necessary to speak out against it. And especially for this case, since bin Laden would be an extreme example of this. Just like free speech only matters when it's applied to things the majority dislikes, caution about such violence should be defended when the results are possibly positive.
Well, now I tell you, I never seen good come o' goodness yet. Him as strikes first is my fancy; dead men don't bite; them's my views--amen, so be it.

I really am curious why German posters continue to shit all over this.

It is what it is. If you expected anything different you are naive. If you think this wouldn't be done by any country in the world in similar circumstances you are naive.

I like the fact he is dead. Be a hater if you want but it doesn't change the fact the allied forces have just achieved one of their main objectives. That alone warrants celebration.

Its exactly what i exspected from you. That makes it not better.
The fact that you want to tell me indirectly that i cant talk in this thread ebcause im not from the US (lol) shows who is naive here.
Its just propaganda, but everybody knows it, bind a banana on a band on a tree and the monkey will look for the sky if he is hungry. =)

Your trolling is absolutely fucking disgusting. There is no propaganda to the fact that Osama bin Laden was actively funding the murdering of thousands of people.

You insult every victim of terrorism.

But I guess your one of those people who is too busy knowing everything to actually ever bother learning simple facts.

Yea, I sure hope no one celebrated Hitler's death, since he was only one person >_>

Please stop comparing Osama to Hitler, there is no comparision whatsoever.

This is the only time in internet history that a hitler comparison almost works, actually, so we should let it slide.

Why?

I clearly think I'm better than a man who enlists other men for the sole purpose of murder. You're also clearly better than Osama as well, as he'd probably kill you on the spot.

Hahaha another Issue I see here is that a lot of people posting are just glad the guy is dead (THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE). And I am pretty sure that is not only to be expected but also welcomed in this thread. (AGAIN, NOT THE ISSUE).

And then there are a bunch of naysayers on here, either stating it will not change anything, or we should not be celebrating the death of a mass murderer. The issue is the lack of relevant or positive contribution those attitudes have to this thread. What is the purpose of letting us know that in your opinion this may not change anything at all? Would you like to take this moment away from people who are genuinely not only expected, but also entitled to be happy right about now?

so what are positive contributions to this thread? "Huzzah, hes dead!!!! COUNTERTERRORISTS WIN!" or "holy shit, news of the year!!" maybe the thread title should have made clear that only affirmative one liners are acceptable posts.

What's with all the insensitive Germans in this thread?

In the apologetic post-WW2 Germany it's cool to pretend you are ever merciful and infinitely civil.

You re not better then the ppl you like to see dead, but i think you dont understand that.

SERIOUSLY? He's not saying he likes to see homeless people dead, or people of a certain race or whatever. He's talking about Osama freaking Bin Laden. I'm pretty goddamn sure he's better than him, whoever he is, and I'm pretty sure you're either nuts or trolling, which is, itself, in pretty bad taste.

But please, employ your wisdom and tell us how, if you like, he isn't better than Bin Laden. Body count? Murderous ideology? Hygeine? Draw for us your symmetrical parallels.

Yeah I'm wondering that as well. It seems like a very odd choice to dump a body into the ocean instead of, for lack of a better way to put this, put that shit on display. If you know what I mean.

They had to bury Osama's body someway twenty four hours after he was killed. It has to do with the Islamic religion. If they didn't, then they would have Islam on their ass. Obama is making sure that the Islamic countries see that we aren't against them, but against people like Osama and terrorists of his ilk. They also didn't give his body an actual burial because then people could flock to it and treat him like a martyr. This way it shows that Obama respects the Islam culture/religion by putting Osama's body a rest and also does it in a way that no one will know where it is or ends up.

WASHINGTON – A U.S. official says Osama bin Laden has been buried at sea.

After bin Laden was killed in a raid by U.S. forces in Pakistan, senior administration officials said the body would be handled according to Islamic practice and tradition. That practice calls for the body to be buried within 24 hours, the official said. Finding a country willing to accept the remains of the world's most wanted terrorist would have been difficult, the official said. So the U.S. decided to bury him at sea.

The official, who spoke Monday on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive national security matters, did not immediately say where that occurred.

edit - the middle east hates us already. we don't need to shit on their religion by making a mockery of a religious man regardless of how extreme and evil he was. we already have enough people hating america as it is, we got our justice and that should be enough.

I suspect many of the "Germans" posting come from the middle-east. Besides the Americans are entitled to celebrating right now, this is symbolically important imo.

They didn't want to bury him on land to create a "shrine" or "temple" for extremist. They wanted to put the body where nobody could get it or worship it.

They want to avoid that the grave of Osama could become a gathering place (a holy place) Lets just hope they made some pictures because I can hear the conspiracy theorys already.
