Keep it civil guys. Alright I am sick of warning people: Trolling, flame baiting, and derailing will result in insta bans. The same goes for conspiracy theorists and stupidity generally. Confirmation was as follows - On-site DNA test which came back as 99% positive. - photos of face sent to CIA and confirmed with photo analysis - confirmed by 20 year old wife who live in pakistan. This thread is specifically dedicated to the details surrounding the raid/his death.

I imagine things are going to get very hairy in the next few months if this is true. The violence isn't going to be all that organized, so the effects won't be anywhere near as great as you might expect. The reason Al Qaeda (literally, "The Base") was so powerful was because it united several dozen disparate movements within the Islamic world and began to channel them first against the Soviets and then against the West. Unless another leader of Osama's skill can rise up, that power is going to be lacking as individual cells make desperate attacks. And while I haven't kept track of the movement in recent years, I can't imagine someone with Osama's sheer leadership credentials and ability.

I suppose it will appease the ignorant masses in the US but it's just a moral/propaganda victory. In practice nothing will change. The #1 winner in all of this is Obama, he'll milk this shit all the way to reelection. Chilling in a Mansion and more than capable of speaking orders. Unless you know something everyone else doesnt. Since you know his health history.
