Keep it civil guys. Alright I am sick of warning people: Trolling, flame baiting, and derailing will result in insta bans. The same goes for conspiracy theorists and stupidity generally. Confirmation was as follows - On-site DNA test which came back as 99% positive. - photos of face sent to CIA and confirmed with photo analysis - confirmed by 20 year old wife who live in pakistan. This thread is specifically dedicated to the details surrounding the raid/his death.

Well considering how much of a symbol this is Obama has pretty much won his second election already. probably not i mean there are a lot of people who just straight up hate obama the same way it was with bush not as many people as hated bush yet and it might not go that way but there's going to be an NYT article tomorrow or in a few days about anonymous democrats saying that his re-election is going to be harder than thought killing osama wouldnt have helped bush much after 2005 it wont help obama much now not for long obama still has a better than 50-50 chance of winning i think like 65-35 right now just because theres no clear GOP field or front runner

No, because Osama isn't a terrorist as much as he's a religious/political figure. Putting his death all over American air-waves is going to be demoralizing to the Taliban and other crazy Jihadists out there who think killing innocent civilians will solve anything. It's also good for a lot of Americans, especially those who really lost someone due to the events of 9/11. Whatever your politics are, whatever you think of America's foreign policy, it's a good thing Osama is dead. The world is better for knowing he's dead. Plain and simple.

This is all just political posturing and morale boosting here, hopefully at least this means the troops will get pulled out of the Middle East at a faster rate...but probably not. Yup. Whole "war on terror" is such a huge waste of human lives & resources.
