Tim Burton fanboy meter is off the charts.
Have you seen the George Clooney Batman? You know that Tim Burton did those too?

Sorry Rashid, did mean to be mean ^^

At first I was nervous about Hathaway but I really quite enjoyed her in Get Smart. I think she has some really good acting chops, she just gets type-cast in all those sappy romance movies just because she was in Bridget Jones Diary. Any way I am really excited about Tom Hardy as Bane. He has seriously blown me away in everything he has done. I feel like this movie will have a great dynamic with Hathaway being a strong female counterpoint to the Bale Batman and having a powerful villain such as Bane to create this large 3-way balance of power in the film. It feels like this flick will have a totally different feel than the last two, which will be quite refreshing. If anyone can break the threequal curse it is Christopher Nolan.

I mean, the guy is a crazy dude with clown make up, generally uneducated, has absolutely no people skills at all. How on earth does a guy like him even gets henchmen to join him in his criminal escapades? I mean, on top of those key character flaws, he treats all his henchmen like shit and doesn't care if they die. What kind of pathetic man with low self-respect will even follow this guy? Even if i was a lowly criminal in the seedy underworld of Gotham, siding with Joker is the last thing I'd ever do.
no.. he's a genius who can manipulate people anyway he wants.. he is batman's equal.. at least in most portrayals.. you are probably referring to the joker from the cartoon tv show that used to air on saturday mornings

@OP: Only two other synonyms for 'Rise' are short and poetic enough: 'Ascend/Ascent' and 'Dawn'.
The Dark Knight Ascends The Dark Knight Dawns Dawn of the Dark Knight <--- [I like this juxtaposition of 'dawn and night', but for marketing purposes, it's ideal to put "The Dark Knight" first in the title so that it is indexed next to the sequel; searching this three-quel will retrieve it next to the sequel.]
@OTL: The Dark Knight Returns is patterned after Batman Returns, an undesirable association.
Only ones who will follow Joker are mentally unstable Asylum-bound rejects--which they are. Batman explained this to Dent who pressed a gun against a henchman's head.
I disagree with you about Rachel; she was 'girl-next-door' hot, smart, and brave. I cannot forget her 'vulnerable-and-natural' reaction to Wayne's confession of shooting parents' killer at the trial.
Going 3D nowadays is more to fight off piracy, but Nolan's decision against 3D shows confidence that this movie will be so good that people would buy a legit DVD.

will never be as good as dark knight without joker

See I don't think you can make this comparison. From the casting choices (apart from the regulars) and the direction they are taking the Bane/Catwoman characters I think this will be a completely different movie (which is a good thing). I agree you can't feasibly have a movie with a raving lunatic as good as the Joker (which is why I think they decided against the Riddler for now, the characters are fairly close in many regards). But I have a good feeling Dark Knight Rises will have it's fair share of beastly performances.

I think there is a 90% probability that you're right, but you never know, the next great villain might be right in Nolan's next film.

Actually Joel Schumacher did that. He did both Batman Forever and Batman and Robin, both movies being the worst in all of the Batman movie franchise according to consensus. But personally i find them to be okay.

Actually, Tim Burton was among the producers of both of those movies. Or at least, the info in wikipedia says that he was.
