How do you roll then O_o Smoking without filters is a nightmare (stains on teeth, tobacco in mouth, burning etc.) Maybe you just an hardcore dude ^_^

well once i get down to the roach i put it out and save it for the bong same like i do with joints

the tobacco in the mouth happens a lot lol. i had a friend who would tear off pieces of the paper pack and roll them into tiny cylinders to stick on the ends of the rolled cigarette. wasn't a proper filter but it solved the problems of tobacco falling out and having more paper between your skin and the lit end.

If you roll the mouth end of your paper into a Z shape it achieves a similar end. It's how I roll my joints. I just use ultra-slim filters for my smokes, though, as I don't like smoking tobacco without a filter.

Also, in New Zealand, they are planning to make smoking illegal by 2025, which I think is sad. I think people should be allowed doing what they want with their bodies, and it will just criminalise a lot of people too. Probably won't happen though, they just bring it up on the news every once in a while.

I'm assuming you bought some Pall Mall Baselines or similar, if you got them for $10, and they're a really poor introduction to smoking tobacco.

If you genuinely want to get a feel for good tobacco smoking, buy a pouch. Even if you don't finish it, I'm sure you'll have a friend who would take it off your hands, or you could just save it for rolling spliffs.

A nice, smooth blend like Port Royal Black Label or Park Drive Fine Cut, and the slimmest filters you can find. Zigzag yellows are fine, but I like these badboys. Not as easy to find, but quite a number of dairies, foursquares and petrol stations stock them. They come in sticks wrapped in plastic, so you can chuck a few in your pouch on your way out the door and they wont dry out your tobacco (putting loose filters in your pouch dries out your tobacco so dont do it!).

Feeling sick after smoking can happen when you first start. There was about a 5 day period for me where I would feel a little nausea after smoking, but I pushed past it.

that's crazy expensive. and about feeling dizzy... it's probably your weed smoking skills that are causing you to completely inhale the smoke rather than suck on it like a lot of people do. lots of my weed smoking friends say the same thing whenever they take some hits off of a cigarette.

lol i'd say that super cheap cigarettes are an awful substitute for weed

Lol yea, I wasn't trying to substitute for weed, just wanted to try out tobacco just my itself. I like the head high you get from it (I've done half weed/tobacco bong hits) and I was hoping it would be the same with cigarettes. I can smoke 1/2 of one, get the 20 min high and smoke the other 1/2 later on in the day and it seems to work out fine. I've been told cigarettes are expensive in NZ, but it's only ~$8 USD so not that bad but they keep increasing taxes on it and on alcohol for some reason. Another thing I dislike about cigarettes is it feels like I'm damaging my lungs way more than with weed (probably because it's not in a bong). I need to get some pipe tobacco and try that out, it smells so nice

lol yea, they're pall malls I've been told to try out the exact same ones you told me too my a veteran friend. I have to finish the pack I have now though, and I do about one a week so it's going to take a while.

Also, if you smoke regularly (a few ciggy's/day) is it pretty easy to get addicted or does it take quite a long time? Some of my friends seem to be able to go cold turkey even after ~1 year of continued smoking and others can't seem to stop even when they want after a few months of starting. Must me dependent on genes or health or something right?

i think that the cheaper cig you buy the more extra shit other than tobacco they are putting into it. also menthols have a lot of extra crap. the difference between your average cigarette and 100% pure tobacco is SO obvious. and yeah it's different from person to person, but trying to not get addicted by only smoking a small amount doesnt seem like a good plan, as the small amount you are using will eventually lead to a slightly bigger small amount, and so on.

like someone else said if you are interested in tobacco then go with something other than cigarettes. a pouch is way cheaper, tastes better, there's not an assload of extra chemicals, and you get the fun of rolling your own

It is entirely dependent on the individual. I know people who were hooked a few weeks in, yet I've been smoking for four years and I can still take it or leave it on a daily basis. Sometimes I'll go several months of smoking 10-15 a day, then I'll be short on money for the week or busy with work and not have a single one for 1-2 weeks and it doesn't really bother me much. Everyone is totally different, which is what annoys me about the presumption a lot of people make that all smokers are addicted.

If you roll the mouth end of your paper into a Z shape it achieves a similar end. It's how I roll my joints. I just use ultra-slim filters for my smokes, though, as I don't like smoking tobacco without a filter.

I just cut up some old business cards or some cheap deck of playing cards into half centimeter slivers and roll them into a spiral, then stick them into the tobacco joint, and let it expand.

The filter is about stopping tobacco from getting pulled out the smoking end. If you REALLY want less harmful smoke, just roll thinner cigarettes and smoke less at a time (which is less hot, tastes much better, and burns for WAY longer)

Hey, started smoking about 3-4 months ago due to a stressful job, I have been smoking mostly Marlboro fags, but I think the taste is a little to harsh so I have started trying out different brands.
Any advises on some good fags?

Hehe, heard it takes a while to prepare the pipe, and even longer to actually smoking it. Don't think I have time for all of that at work, sorry.

To all you smokers out there, it ain't fucking cool. It's not something that you can just be like "oh yeah, i already smoke, so deal with it" about.

The thing most of you are failing to understand is that you're not just doing harm to yourself. Second hand smoke is just as bad. I speak from experience here. My entire family smokes (inside), and they have since i was born. My mom smoked while she carried me. Now, my lungs are just as bad as a smoker's lungs. And I've never smoked a cigarette in my life. When i went to the doctor due to some pain and difficulty while breathing (i was 15), she looked at me, and said with sincere disappointment "you're a smoker, right?". That's how bad it is.

So while i really don't give a fuck about your health, do your children/non smoking friends/relatives a favor and quit, because there's no such thing as simply not smoking around them.

Hey, started smoking about 3-4 months ago due to a stressful job, I have been smoking mostly Marlboro fags, but I think the taste is a little to harsh so I have started trying out different brands.
Any advises on some good fags?

Try Malboro Beyond, the ones with a small menthol ball in the filter that you break. I hate menthol cigarettes, and so did most of the people I recommended the beyond's to, however it tastes nothing like menthol cigarettes but it has the silky smooth smoke that they do. No one I recommended them to have smoked anything else since :p

P.S Haven't smoked for a month now! It's weird, first week/10 days is so fucking horrible, then it goes away, and now a month later it's horrible again... IDK why...

Never tried the beyond, I used to smoke Marlboro Smooths, those were decent for a while but I think they changed the formula a few months after they were introduced because they suddenly tasted awful to me. Switched back to reds after that.

@Groog; yeah I guess depending on the person those cravings could come/go. Maybe get a vaporizer that you can use instead? Or are you just gonna stick to cold turkey?

Second time I'm quitting... Cold turkey + cannabis when it gets really bad is the best way I've found dealing with the withdrawal. What I've found is that there are periods when the withdrawal comes back, for me it was worst at like 1 week, 1 month and 3 months. Just wanted to share my pain... ^^

Malboro Gold Beyond are the ones I used to smoke. Yes, that's the pack (Gold one has a golden >). It has a holographic round sticker on it as well.
