If you roll the mouth end of your paper into a Z shape it achieves a similar end. It's how I roll my joints. I just use ultra-slim filters for my smokes, though, as I don't like smoking tobacco without a filter.

Also, in New Zealand, they are planning to make smoking illegal by 2025, which I think is sad. I think people should be allowed doing what they want with their bodies, and it will just criminalise a lot of people too. I'm assuming you bought some Pall Mall Baselines or similar, if you got them for $10, and they're a really poor introduction to smoking tobacco.
If you genuinely want to get a feel for good tobacco smoking, buy a pouch. Even if you don't finish it, I'm sure you'll have a friend who would take it off your hands, or you could just save it for rolling spliffs.
A nice, smooth blend like Port Royal Black Label or Park Drive Fine Cut, and the slimmest filters you can find. Zigzag yellows are fine, but I like these badboys. Not as easy to find, but quite a number of dairies, foursquares and petrol stations stock them. They come in sticks wrapped in plastic, so you can chuck a few in your pouch on your way out the door and they wont dry out your tobacco (putting loose filters in your pouch dries out your tobacco so dont do it!).
Feeling sick after smoking can happen when you first start. There was about a 5 day period for me where I would feel a little nausea after smoking, but I pushed past it.

i think that the cheaper cig you buy the more extra shit other than tobacco they are putting into it. also menthols have a lot of extra crap. the difference between your average cigarette and 100% pure tobacco is SO obvious. and yeah it's different from person to person, but trying to not get addicted by only smoking a small amount doesnt seem like a good plan, as the small amount you are using will eventually lead to a slightly bigger small amount, and so on.
like someone else said if you are interested in tobacco then go with something other than cigarettes. a pouch is way cheaper, tastes better, there's not an assload of extra chemicals, and you get the fun of rolling your own

It is entirely dependent on the individual. I know people who were hooked a few weeks in, yet I've been smoking for four years and I can still take it or leave it on a daily basis. Sometimes I'll go several months of smoking 10-15 a day, then I'll be short on money for the week or busy with work and not have a single one for 1-2 weeks and it doesn't really bother me much. Everyone is totally different, which is what annoys me about the presumption a lot of people make that all smokers are addicted.

I just cut up some old business cards or some cheap deck of playing cards into half centimeter slivers and roll them into a spiral, then stick them into the tobacco joint, and let it expand.
The filter is about stopping tobacco from getting pulled out the smoking end. If you REALLY want less harmful smoke, just roll thinner cigarettes and smoke less at a time (which is less hot, tastes much better, and burns for WAY longer)

Hey, started smoking about 3-4 months ago due to a stressful job, I have been smoking mostly Marlboro fags, but I think the taste is a little to harsh so I have started trying out different brands. Any advises on some good fags?

To all you smokers out there, it ain't fucking cool. It's not something that you can just be like "oh yeah, i already smoke, so deal with it" about.
The thing most of you are failing to understand is that you're not just doing harm to yourself. Second hand smoke is just as bad. I speak from experience here. My entire family smokes (inside), and they have since i was born. My mom smoked while she carried me. Now, my lungs are just as bad as a smoker's lungs. And I've never smoked a cigarette in my life. When i went to the doctor due to some pain and difficulty while breathing (i was 15), she looked at me, and said with sincere disappointment "you're a smoker, right?". That's how bad it is.
So while i really don't give a fuck about your health, do your children/non smoking friends/relatives a favor and quit, because there's no such thing as simply not smoking around them.

Try Malboro Beyond, the ones with a small menthol ball in the filter that you break. I hate menthol cigarettes, and so did most of the people I recommended the beyond's to, however it tastes nothing like menthol cigarettes but it has the silky smooth smoke that they do. No one I recommended them to have smoked anything else since :p
P.S Haven't smoked for a month now! It's weird, first week/10 days is so fucking horrible, then it goes away, and now a month later it's horrible again... IDK why...

Second time I'm quitting... Cold turkey + cannabis when it gets really bad is the best way I've found dealing with the withdrawal. What I've found is that there are periods when the withdrawal comes back, for me it was worst at like 1 week, 1 month and 3 months. Just wanted to share my pain... ^^

Malboro Gold Beyond are the ones I used to smoke. Yes, that's the pack (Gold one has a golden >). It has a holographic round sticker on it as well.
