I feel kinda bad that there's so much hate directed at her, there's thousands of terrible videos on youtube, hers just went viral. If you want to be mad at anyone for the song, it should be the producers/writers of the song. Plus, she actually sings pretty decent. Not professionally well, but probably better than 99% of the people criticizing. All that being said, brain meltingly stupid song :D Exactly. There are a ton of teen girls who, if given the money and opportunity, would love to become a popstar for a day even if they recognize the fact that they have zero chance in the real indsustry. She (or rather her parents) just happened to have the money to pay some studio to produce her trite music. Thank god millions of teen girls dont have access to that kind of cash, lol.

"I'm not a bad singer." *Sings anthem off key* "FRY DAY FRY DAY!" That spot on itunes could belong to someone with talent. But that's not gonna happen in today's industry.

Her mom paid $2000 for a package deal to record two songs. She picked "Friday" over some adult-themed song because that's what she can relate to: being excited about the weekend. Not her fault the lyrics are bad, but the song is still catchy, has a common chord progression that works, and it's an experience most teenagers won't have. People giving her crap beyond the bad lyrics and bad production video are just ignorant and monsters. A lot of people are making decent covers of the song because auto tune isn't being used--and from the interview we know RB can at least sing the national anthem better than Christina Aguilera. Get off the hate bandwagon and keep your ill comments to yourself.

And to be honest, I still think Ke$ha songs are just as bad, they just have much more money behind the production, but they are probably equally talented

If people are buying the song doesn't that speak volumes to how popular it is? It may not be "good music" but it's popular and that's what matters in mainstream music. You swear like American Idol fairly auditions singers based on talent.
