Her musical genius is under appreciated by you philistines. Truly a shakespeare of our age and a musical savant. Haha wow, that was a fun read. But no amount of bullshit will save this song :/ I disagree, that has to be some really intense analysis of the song. Now i can see all the underlining facts in the song, it is as deep as shakespeare. + Show Spoiler + Lol the person that wrote that analysis is the best troll i've ever seen. Genius! That is how you become an english major. + Show Spoiler + Bull shit on bull shit D:

You realize when you take a moment to step back and think about what is going on at the beginning when Rebecca arrives at the bus stop. What is a kid of that age doing driving such a nice car? Rebecca Black's day is merely a side story from the real, tragic story of the driver of the vehicle who picks up Rebecca on her way to school. You see, this boy, who we'll call Roger, is an only child. We can see this clearly by the expensive car he's driving. No ordinary teen could afford that from an after-school job. Obviously his parents are very wealthy. But given the average wealthy family, there's no way that they would hand out cars of that value to EVERY child if they had more than one kid. The unfortunate truth, though, is that they have given him this car out of guilt - he's very neglected at home, as his parents are so busy all the time. They shower him with money and gifts to make up for their poor parenting, for never being there for their one and only son. That's not even the start of Roger's problems, though. On top of never having parents around to be supportive, never having a father or mother figure in his life, Roger is chronically depressed and is quite socially awkward. He also has a serious drug problem fueled by his unknowing parents' money, but we'll get to that later. He's in love with Rebecca, but would never dare tell her. We can see this after they finish school for the day, when everyone is preparing for the party coming up that night. At first glance it seems that they're all happily going to the party in Roger's awesome car. But a closer look reveals that it's not Roger driving - it's some girl we've never seen before, probably another of Rebecca's heartless friends. You see Rebecca has a very cold side to her, she uses people to get her way. All she cares about is herself - the weekend and partying are her only desires. She asked to borrow Roger's car for the party, knowing full well he wouldn't be attending. And of course Roger let her use it. He has such strong feelings for her, he would never want to disappoint her by saying no. So off Rebecca and her friends go, taking Roger's car to the party with no regard for their (or the car's) safety as they hang out of it on the highway, dancing wildly. Roger is alone at home; he doesn't have many friends at school or, naturally, at the party. He has a serious prescription drug addiction because of his depression - or maybe depression because of his addiction. We'll never know. Now at this point it sounds like it's going out on a limb, but let me explain. At some point during the night he ODs. While he's unconscious, he has vivid hallucinations of himself as a grown up, handsome, suave black man. This represents what he aspires to be in Rebecca's eyes - a confident, sexy man who can sweep Rebecca off her feet. In his imagination he's back in his car driving to the party to tell Rebecca how he truly feels about her. Some things feel out of place, which is why we know that it's Roger's dreams rather than reality. First of all the background is rushing by in haphazard directions, there's no way he's actually driving down the road. Second of all he's talking about passing a school bus. What would a school bus be doing driving down the highway at close to midnight? These are obviously fleeting thoughts of the day gone past, there were probably many buses at school earlier that day. The rest of the song stays as Rebecca and her friends partying, with the occasional flash of Roger as the black man bobbing his head and driving to the party. So I ask everyone to look deeper into the video. While it's all fun and games for Rebecca, there's a young man in need of some sympathy. The fact that he barely has any showing in the video represents how ignored he is in real life. While Rebecca and her friends are having fun at the party, Roger is ODed on the floor of his bedroom, his only solace being what's in the solitude of his imagination. Manifesting himself into the man he will never be, dancing to the song from the party while driving towards the one girl whom he's quietly sought after for years, a girl who he will never have as he spirals further into his own state of internal chaos, most likely never recovering from it for the rest of his life.
