The other nice watch I have is a old ass automatic Timex. It's at least 30 years old and still working.

Most watches over $250 ~90% of people would be just as satisfied (performance/appearance wise) with a knock-off. The people who frequent this forum are probably part of the ~10% who might notice the difference but most people wouldn't be the wiser.

Random side note: that $20,000 watch pictured a few posts back was on hardcore pawn and the owner guy bought a knockoff for $5,000 thought it "looked perfect" and later found out it was a knockoff. Now I know the show is mostly fake but it's a very real type of scenario. Many knockoffs are so good that even experienced people can't tell the difference without looking up the serial number.
