Also a soldier in the american army might not have signed up to be a murder, a KKK member is nothing but evil and a nazi soldier is a man who became a part of a brilliant machine designed to turn people into heartless murders. I love how they claim the documents threaten national security. All the documents are old and outdated, and afaik they´re not exactly naming a bunch of covert operatives or something, all they´re doing is making US diplomats look like trash.

I really wish you wouldn't stereotype the nazis and KKK like that. The Nazis and KKK are (it really isn't "were") run by evil people, but a follower might not have signed up to "be a murder" or "be evil", either. They were force-fed the same kind of BS, for much longer, than the american military members in your family. And both Nazi and KKK members faced summary execution for disloyalty.

Now, I have no trouble with supporters for the US military, inside of it or out. They have legitimate concerns, and, quite honestly, countries run militaries for a very good reason. However, I have extreme issues with apologists for said organizations or their members. People who have trouble living by their choices, and turn away from reality in order to do so.

The old german natzi's can't all be considered evil.. since they were forced into it. If you weren't a nazi you got left out. Same thing can be argued for the old KKK's.
Recent Natzi's and KKK members can be argued being all evil, since they now joined the organisation BY CHOICE. There is NO pressure any more to join such an organisation.
The US military has pressure right now, hence you can't argue that all of them are evil (definitely no). Most of them are prob brain washed and to be fair.. everything they do ain't that bad.

So you say may Grandfather (not blood but mind) is evil because he served in the italians facist army but your friends who are serving for the US Military are not? Dude both kill people, with the HUGE difference that your friends had the choice to join the army without major drawbacks, my Grandfather had also a choice, death or service.
Face the fact that the soldier serving in the military is as much an asshole as the general. If you are a "walkalong" you are just as bad. It also doesn't take anything away if you are dumb (this is what you say) and actually trust the shit the cult leader is telling you. There are people in racist groups such as the KKK that aren't really that evil, still they are to blame.

A wikileak has yet killed a single person. It's not like he's leaking people under cover. Wikileaks goes through the material beforehand and sorts information like that out. There where for sure reports that COULD put people in jeopardy Have you still not realised that as soon as US is using the Al-Qaeda/Terror thing something is fishy.

EDIT: I say you can always pass the black peter to the followers, because you always have a choice what you follow. Lol at the tweets, the google cache is gone but he saved it. Not very hard to fake but, no idea how this evidence would hold up in court. It is however some interesting stuff and if true, absolutely despiceable. I've heard several stories of men being accused of rape, it turns out the woman was lying too get revenge/was mentally ill but by then it is too late, their lives are already ruined. Not to mention it discredits actual rape victims since these cases are usually so hard to determine since its often word against word.

There is absolutely no doubt that the US military comes from more honorable roots than the KKK or Nazis. However, the roots or even ideology of an organization have absolutely nothing to do with their capacity for "evil", as recent events have clearly demonstrated. The men and women US military easily surpassed the KKK's body count in less than two years, during Operation Iraqi "Freedom".
Nor do ideology or "roots" constitute credible arguments for apologia. If people join an organization and act in its name, I expect them to live with the choices they made.
I'm going to quote myself, sorry; I'm sounding far more combative than I really am. I'm not an anti-military whacko, and I really do agree with the principles the US military sometimes abides by. Hell, I even agree with their former decision to nuke Hiroshima.
And if your family served in Afghanistan, not Iraq...well, I can't exactly praise them, but they certainly have my utmost respect.

Both are extraordinarily paranoid. Both believe the US government is out to get them. Both are dictator figures. Both trust few if any people at all. Both are notoriously secretive. Both are attention-seekers, out to grab headlines from the world while contributing nothing. Both take out insurance policies in case they're attacked. *Well yes, you go ahead and publish bad press about china, noone has ever done that before. -Rest of points are clarifications/bad explanations of the original ones.-
I think a person like Assange is needed to pull this off. When you're chased by goverments worldwide you need to be paraniod. (US Senators and other top political figures are stating/wishing that Assage was dead.). Releasing information that reveal nations wrongdoings all over the world is NOT EQUAL TO NUKING SEOUL. If anything it makes the world better! Governments shouldn't get away with all the shit they pull all the time. It's good that they fear being busted. Assange IS contributing, being the head of such an organisation sure isn't a job I would like to have. He's giving his entire life for this.
The documents ARE helping. Just where I live 2 or 3 political scandals have already been revealed and is currently being investigated. This WOULD NOT have come to the surface without wikileaks.
