I think the guy is a legend for free-speech and helps us all see the backhanded tactics of Politics in general, The globe over. Wikileaks ain't going anywhere after this bullshit rape case, And I for one am a happy bunny.

US State Department spokesman PJ Crowley said it was possible the US would make an extradition request for Mr Assange but he said it was premature as the criminal investigation into Wikileaks was still ongoing. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11937110 Funny a couple hours ago i said the us would ask for extradition and they already are considering it.

Absolutely nothing? Not military information, not nuclear information, not infrastructure, nothing? There should be absolutely no secrets whatsoever? Even if those secrets are entrusted to officials that were elected by the people specifically to handle affairs for the public?

Remember that thoose guys today would be classified terrorists/political dissidents by the US gov for their ideas clad for a modern day if they were to reincarnate in the US. You must know what you are taking about, since you live in America and all. Or can I start telling you how the Swedish people feel?

Brainwashed, ... dont get me wrong, but I am sorry for you. You think that going to a foreign country and kill people there means protecting your family and friends. It does not. It means just killing people who are defending their home, families and friends. You are not defending against enemy, you are attacking. + Show Spoiler + PS: Send photos of that weapons of mass destruction when you find them But this is a thread about war, it is about arresting a man because he did not use a condom. Really just for a moment try to forget all about Wikileaks and cablegate, and think about two chisks who found out they fucked the same man. So they decide they will sue him for rape because he is famous, they might get some money from that. They went to 4 prosecutors, and three of them think there is not enough evidence to arrest that man. Fourth is a woman from feminist party which will take the case. From what I know, this is what happened. If you would hear it and knew nothing about wikilieaks, you would just laugh about stupidity of sweden justice system.

Can you please point to where I said that we invented free speech? Could you also point to where I said that other people's opinions don't matter? I believe what I said is not to tell us how we think, not don't tell us what you think of us. The guy is under arrest for rape, or surprise sex, or whatever. Unless you have evidence to the contrary, all you are doing is conjecturing.

If that is the case, then I am guessing that they feel he has broken a US law in addition to whatever Swedish charges there are. Freedom of speech has limits-- everyone knows that. It might not be for me to say what those limits are, but they do exist. Just like how you cannot shout "fire" in a crowded theater or advocate the violent overthrow of the government. These are not laws unique to America.

I can give you the torrent. It has over 1600 documents, though, so you really have to sort out the crap to find the gold. PM me if you're interested.

My family has been in the Army the Civil War. Not to mention free healthcare, free housing, free food, education, and a top secret clearance that sets you up for a successful career in the government? Nah, I probably just want to kill some Afghans. Side note, I've contributed to derailing this thread enough. Assange is not evil, nor is he a hero. Even though nothing has actually happened yet, I can't say I would be sympathetic if his acts came back to bite him in the ass.
