Why is everyone comparing soldiers and armies. I think the important thing is to recognize that we want to avoid a full-scale conflict while suppressing North Korea's sporadic attacks on South Korea.

WW2 and Korean relations are totally different. NK is a brainwashed country led by the upper echelon of the national party. Almost everything they do is done to continue to grasp that power. It's all theatrics to them.

What do you want to bet in the NK media they will claim that SK fired first?

Would you stop blabbering about how invincible and movie-star Ramboish U.S. soldiers apparently are? There's a serious news story here and I'm facepalming pretty hard at this whole debate over "hurrr which country's soldiers are the most badass?"

Yeah totally, because US soldiers can fly and see through walls. Besides the retarded misquote on your part, if you refuse to acknowledge the difference you're either trolling or just blatantly stupid. There's a reason the US can go in somewhere with less manpower and come out with less casualties. US soldiers were insanely effective in comparison to Iraqi soldiers, who often didn't even have sufficient training because they didn't want to waste ammunition supplies. US soldiers are also better equipped, overall more prepared, more hardened, etc. Utter joke to even consider otherwise if you're comparing to something like NK. You don't seem to understand that the power of US soldiers don't come from individual training, it comes from logistics. They have better reckon, better communications, better organization. It's not like the soldiers are individually better. lol the individual IS better Thats a rather bold statement. When your fighting in another persons country all that goes out the door. Despite the supposed superiority Vietnam, the Middle Eastern wars, and the first Korean war did not show America winning (which didn't happen in 2/3 of the list) with ease. To all you people crying for war and thinking it's going to be similar to something of a steamroll please be realistic, the Koreans would have home ground advantage and that advantage is quite deadly.
yup i agree with you, i just think the modern american soldier as well as the modern american military is superior than the rest of the world

If NKorea ends up killing any progamers I'm going to be on the "Destroy NK" bandwagon.

@Reuters Reuters Top News FLASH - S.korea's defence ministry says this is an "intentional and planned attack"; clearly a violation armistice with North Korea
That I agree on, however the question is what will be the response to this violation.

It's not like the discussion is completely irrelevant. Where do you suggest the discussion go? I'm all ears, I'm just following this topic as it's the most interesting thing (BY FAR) at the moment that has occurred in a while. Ironically I'm writing a 7 page paper on international issues (that can involve military crisis) and I'm writing it on the goddamn China/Japan territory dispute. Would love to change subjects but it's due tomorrow and topics had to get approved... feels terrible writing on something so seemingly small in comparison.
PS. Question not rhetorical. If people want to change the discussion I won't keep talking about soldiers. It's just nothing else discussable has really come up except people trying to post updates or clarifying on what's happening. Not attempting to troll or flamebait.
PSS. Thus an apology to those who feel I was derailing.

I'm pretty sure Nazi Germany was a largely brainwashed country led by the upper echelon of the national party too. The difference is that Germany had assets and the ability to muster an army and it had good geographic positioning to launch attacks across Europe. North Korea doesn't have the same assets and they certainly have no way to expand geographically.
