.Aar : when you say that North Koreans would take precautions against defectors, I don't think you have considered that the South Korean government has infiltrated the weak foundation of the North Korean ranks in the army and tells them the exact opposite. Hence why there would have to be death threats to prevent the majority from running.

And as far as US only supporting SK via fiscal matters, probably right. But that would only be because China stepped in to slap NK so that the US would in fact not cross over into NK.

Thanks Lithose, for making it clear that NKR soldiers are the exact opposite of good fighters, and as far as I'm concerned, I was talking about Skr and allies not just USA, I understand that USA is an ally of SKR but When I said that SKR and allies could roll over Korea I meant like Canada, U.s.a, Japan, Singapore, and possibly China. I've pretty much had it with this whole fighting Asia will end up like Vietnam in the end attitude. As far as I'm concerned the reason there is a South Korea is because Canada and America fought for its freedom.

Its not like they aren't still using the same weapons as when we last fought them, and the weapons they have are comparable to the weapons used by the Afgani's and Iraqi's. I think that South Korea ALONE could waste these guys and since they are so malnourished and poor, their state would crumble without any Chinese help. I believe the real question here is not, "Can we win?", but rather ,"to who goes the spoils?", China?, USA/Canada?, South Korea?. Of course we all know it should go to SKR but what will China feel of the encroaching USA and Canadian army bases, which will surely pop up in the newly gained territory? I will not hesitate to say that China probably doesn't give a single fuck about NKR anymore, which is why they are basically a third world country on a power trip after receiving no aid from China for a while.

I think that this war is inevitable and that it will happen. The arrogance, destruction, and pure hatred upon SKR by NKR will not stand and as far as I'm concerned I will ship out with my Korean buddies to ensure the safety of future generations. All this is hypothetical of course, and I truly hope that this comes to an end through diplomacy rather than random horrible violence, as I'm sure that is a possibility due to NKR's increasing defection and self doubt.

Link plz! i found a link on another website but it was dead. i wanna know how he referenced it lol. Its comical that he did tho.

So far no new news huh? Lets hope its simmering down. Or lets hope china usa SK japan all just own NK in an hour and call it a day.

But we all know that wont happen. We really need to figure out a way to deal with NK, it just doesnt seem possible without war-like conflict.

Lol ReaverDrop. I find it humorous that you keep throwing USA and Canada in the same sentences. Who will gain anything? USA/Canada? Who shall fight? The fierce Canadian Mountees accompanied by the weak USA soldiers? Please do not compare the two it's really shameful. I don't care if Canada helped in any war the United States was in, comparing their armed forces is nothing more than trying to compare FlaSh to a C- ICCup player.

It's not flame bait when it's true. I don't think Russia appreciates being compared to Georgia, their much less powerful neighbor.

If I remember correctly the US tried to invade canada and we ended up fighting you off and burnt the whitehouse. Different timeframe and obviously if we went to a fullscale war we would lose before it even started. However it's completely frustrating when US citizens refuse to acknowledge that other countries were even there. If the UN decides to get involved then canadians will undoubtably be heading to Korea and maybe even without UN consent.

http://www.globalfirepower.com/

canada is 23 with 9-10% of the USAs population.

Also your superior fighting force with its laser guided missiles was able to wipe out an entire group of Canadians in friendly fire.

I don't think bringing that kind of dipshitty attitude to a situation like this is called for or necessary, and it is my honest opinion that you are probably just a empty headed kid who just wants to start some shit, when the rest of us just want to talk seriously about some important issues. Think before you type Game.

No, most definitely the North Koreans that are overseas or anywhere near somewhere they could defect have their families held hostage by the government on threat of death. Where did you get this "SK infiltrated NK and everybody loves the military" thing from?

I don't know if you're American or not but our military is not to be used as a "My dad could beat up your dad" bullshit for 'Adults'. At the end of the day for all our differences we are very much the same and the US would not be where it's at today without the help of other nations. Grow up or stop trolling.

This post is in bad form.

The Canadians armed forces may not be as large as the US but you shouldn't put it down. I'm sure the Canadian armed forces are every bit as trained and capable as their US counterparts. They have been good allies to the U.S. and have helped us in most of our engagements. They have given you no reason to scoff at them.

(disc: I'm Canadian)

Even if highly inflammatory, I don't think his comment is that far from the truth. Not only is the size of our military a shadow of its post-WW2 + Korean War levels, but the Canadian public have basically no stomach for war at all.

I think there are 3 Canadian soldiers stationed in South Korea, in an official capacity. Of course, we'll be a member of the alliance if something does indeed happen, as we're bound by treaty, but our role and contribution is likely not going to be anywhere near SK or even Japan.

Our troops may be very well-trained, highly motivated, etc. etc., and our hardware might be undergoing a refresh under the conservative government, but at the end of the day our ability to project power is minimal and neither is it in the mandate of the Canadian Forces to have that capability. Barely a couple thousand soldiers in Afghanistan and it's straining our logistics and popular opinion to the limit.

Are all you Canadians posting indignantly here going to enlist if WW3 breaks out? Are you going to vote for increased military spending? Those are the only ways we're going to see Canada return to its WW2-era war-like posture, and I don't think many of us want that anyways.

Yeah, first it was so. But then Steve Herman, the VOA Bureau Chief/Correspondent of NE Asia said that Pentagon confirmed, there will be live fire exercises. Dunno how it really is then, but i guess we'll see soon enough.
