As for them not taking questions- that's pretty much their national policy towards media. As someone who is quite terrified over the whole NK/SK situation, I have to agree with this. I am almost happy that China is going to have a press conference to talk about this in... 10 minutes. Heh. They definitely don't want war to happen.

Right, because that makes sense. If the US and SK are already viewing war against NK alone as a last, desperate resort that is bound to be widely unpopular and expensive with a high civilian death toll, then the firm support of China declaring itself to be the protector of North Korea and a solid ally to that regime would only make war more likely. wat. (sarcasm) The announcement by China isn't going to be anything major, probably an urgent call for a resume to six party talks and a plea for cool heads, as well as a dig against the US and Korea for launching military exercises given the situation.

even though NK has talked shit before, some reason im attracted to this specific event.. this can get BIG, ww3.. is it bad that i WANT NK to do something cz all they have been is a nuisance with their warning attacks etC? if it leads to a ww3, then it is what it is, but i know it's better than living with a inferior country threatening us and others every other month.

It's the other way my friend, I'm talking about NK declaring war, not US/SK declaring it. Of course SK/US don't want a war. If NK has the support of China they are much more likely to start a war.

Also, there are non-violent ways to pressure NKR to open up and change from within that don't involve a bunch of people getting bombed.

China's foreign ministry said it will hold a press conference at 4:30 p.m. for both domestic and foreign reporters based in Beijing, adding that it will not accept any questions during the conference. 4:30 now instead of 4..........it was at 4 pm according to the first post on the previous page ![]()

I hope something works out without too many suffering.
