If you play as black (note: if you get black, not like in BW play protoss, just so no one thinks I'm a retard) you are supposed to be happy with a draw, or so I thought. Then there's the issue of computers playing for players online and such. How many people play chess anyways? chess is played by millions of people all over the world.. and often you get to play an equal amount of games with the black and white pieces during a tournament. anywho, i dont really see why chess should be an olympic event, there were discussions about this a few years ago, but eventually people agreed to: a) it is impossible to get chess into the olympics because among "regular" people chess is not perceived as a "sporting activity" b) there is already a chessolympiad and several strong tournaments played regularly, thus there is no need for an extra tournament. point a) is probably the most relevant in this discussion, and it is also why bw will never be considered an olympic event.

You mean it won't be an olympic event as long as people hold that view (which I guess may last until the 'prime' generation is the youth of today -_-)

starcraft has no history. its a 5 year old game. and in 5 years nobody will play it anymore. starcraft is not completely balanced. in every other sport at the olympics, its man vs man or team vs team. theres no such thing as a terran advantage over zerg on dire straits. starcraft is a mental game, not a physical game all sports currently in the olympics are physical. chess has been trying to get in for years...
