This link doesn't really pertain to the particular products you are interested in, but you should read it as it pertains to buying a beats product in general http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/511393/what-is-head-fi-s-opinion-on-beats-by-dre-in-ears-and-over-ears Basically, you're playing for something that is pretty good, but sold for 4-5x what it is worth

+1 the m50's has all the rave right now even at Head-Fi. How much is your budget? What's your sound signature? Do you prefer a (flat)balanced or a V (there's a treble/bass boost along the frequency spectrum) shaped sound? Balanced - Gives you more detail and clarity and shines in the mid-range (Acoustic,Instrumentals,Classical) V shaped , the "fun" sound - The sound is colored making electronic music much more enjoyable. As i've said above,it excels in music that requires good bass response but also a slightly emphasized treble (Rap,Electronica,Hip-Hop)

If you have an Asus Essence STX or a comparable device, you probably don't need another amp. Disregarding the advertised sound quality, the measured sound quality at the headphone jack in real-world tests is already excellent, particularly for higher-impedance headphones. I'd only recommend getting an amplifier if you want to try something new, and only if you can return it easily. The difference between an STX and most amps intended to be neutral will be very small. Some tube amps that are intended to produce distortions may be interesting (and you may prefer them), and they may sound different than the STX, but I wouldn't call them necessary at all. What headphones do you use now? Sennheiser HD 650 is of course very popular, as it was the top-end model until the recent HD 800. For choosing between the high-end headphones, it will come down to personal preference and what kind of sound you like.

I listen to electronic music, mainly dance floor like material and stuff like Shpongle. What I want the most is clarity, especially the "background" beats. I hate it when I can barely hear them because they are overshadowed by the other sounds going on. Of course bass is important when going nuts, but bass is not more important than clarity here for me. Right now I am using grado SR-60, they are ok but yeah pretty low end phones.

Hippo VB's (them boom boom bass) Monster Turbines (has a more slightly emphasized bass but they're pretty enjoyable) Triple FI 10's (THIS IS THE BEST OPTION IMO , there's alot of cheap ones flying around that were from the Amazon golden box deal last month , if you can snag these at about $140-180 they're pretty much a steal. The sound is amazing, the bass is thumpy but it doesn't mud off the other ranges unlike the other ones and are quite detailed too,the bass is perfect , they don't overemphasize the bass and shines in bass driven songs)

Monster Turbine looks sick, Triple FI 10 looks decent but it seems impossible to find here in singapore lol. I'm looking a bit more for looks than audio (not saying it isn't important though), which is why the Turbine seems more preferable :p

Thats why I got my headphones which are fairly well balanced and run EQ when I listen to techno for example. (I have Shure SRH840s as a reference)

Buying audio gear is really down to personal preference due to the wide varieties of sound signatures, so testing before buying is a good habit. The prices there are also pretty good, and there have been many combo deals (headset, dac, amp packages) which were pretty sweet. That's how i decided to get my pair of D2k's Also, http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/478568/multi-iem-review-128-iems-compared-earsonics-sm3-added-12-20 for a huge list of IEM's and a short review.
