God damn it..........we could go on like this forever........ Hetfield and Hammet are just better...that's it, that's my opinion.......and for me, no Maiden solo will rise to the level of the Unforgiven or the Bleeding Me solo, and no Maiden riff will ever rise to the level of the Master of Puppets or One riffs........Hetfield and Hammet are just better guiarists

Well when it coems down to raw playing ability, Maiden's guitarists are everything more. Faster, cleaner, more inventive, everything.
its okay to like hammet and hetfield better if "heavier" suits your tastes, but once again, saying they are BETTER than maiden's guitarists is just outlandish.

Cleaner.....I have 5 metallica concerts and they don't make one single mistake.....
INventive.....Hetfield wrote almost all Metallica tracks while Steve is Maiden's main songwriter

Ok.......i know that part from Rock in Rio and that is just really fast sweep picking,which is very easy to do......listen to the Sanitarium solo, Hammet does in the begining 16 notes per second....
It's normal that u say "its about not sounding garbled and thrown together at high speed like metallica tends to" but it's just not true...
And yes, maiden has beautiful writen songs,but i have to say....again that there are songs like To live is to die, or Orion, and especially Bleeding Me that are just Overall better then any Maiden track....
Because u are a Maiden fan u will never say "yes Hetfield and Hammet are better" like i will never say Maiden is better.......because they just AREN'T.......

i am not proud and ignorant...i am a metallica fan, just as you are a maiden fan...........i saw rock in rio a long time ago...i don't remember well...even if there was tapping, it can't be faster then the tapping in Dyers Eve....

This is so weird.
I remember being fanatically into Iron Maiden back in the mid and late 80s. As I grew older my tastes changed somewhat but I still have a special place in my heart for that band.
I just cannot believe that I am sitting here in Seoul almost 20 years later reading an ongoing debate on a Starcraft website about one of the favourite bands from my teenage years.
Life is so f***ing strange.

I'm gonna throw myself in here. First off, I like Metallica more than any other band there is.
Secondly, A Thin Line Between Love and Hate is a good song, but in no way compares to any of the tracks he listed. I can't speak for every Maiden song, but that I can speak for.
The Dyer's Eve solo may be misleading as it was done with a Wah Pedal, and thus sounds a lot faster than it is.
When listening to 3/4, and 4/4 time, you can't really tell the difference. It's pretty hard to, anyhow. The only thing you might catch is the drummer being different, otherwise, I don't personally see any difference in 3/4, and 4/4 (yes, I do play music, so I do know how both sound).
I just want you to name a Maiden song that's faster, and has a cleaner solo than Battery (where Battery is MEANT to be clean). The end of the Battery solo is insanely fast, and very clean.

Hey asshole! I suggest you stop right now. Because you obviosly have no fucking idea what your talking about and don't want to be proven wrong. St. Anger is probably one of the worst metal albums i've ever SEEN and HEARD in my life. Metallica has sunk lower than Slipknot in the metal world with that crap. And I hope you know that the "Maiden TRIO" has alot more musical skill and knowledge than those 2 sellouts in Metallica.
