Mine starts with it being "Spike Spiegal" at around age 12 or 13, an incorrect spelling of "Spike Spiegel" from Cowboy Bebop. I used to post to a game forum under that ID. I got banned for trolling about a year later and re-registered as "SpiegalPwns"

Since then I've shed off "Spike" and just go around as "spiegal" or "spiegalpwns"

its the name of a member of the wu tang clan.

But my real nickname is Meinhof.
At first I used Mainoffender when i created my very first WoW charactere beacause i was listening to the song Main offender by The hives
i then used Mainoff and when i heard about Ulrike Marie Meinhof, i tought she had a pretty cool story so i took her name

Ulrike Marie Meinhof was a German left-wing militant. She co-founded the Red Army Faction (Rote Armee Fraktion) in 1970 after having previously worked as a journalist for the monthly left-wing magazine Konkret. She was arrested in 1972, and eventually charged with numerous murders and the formation of a criminal association. Before the trial concluded, Meinhof was found hanged in her cell in 1976.

I've always liked one word names, and I usually always got my names from bands. One of my favorite bands is August Burns Red and one of their songs is "Existence." Existence was already taken, so I had to add the "88" (The year I was born, nothing to do with the HH stuff).

My name right now for sc2 is Sarcasm just because when people describe me the first thing they say is that I am very sarcastic. I'm thinking of changing it waiting for them to allow name changes. Don't want to buy a whole new game for a new name. Before that my name was Lazy. I got that one because my parents always said I was the lazyest person so I gave myself that name. My parents got a good laugh out of it lol.

CerpinTaxt is the name of the antagonist in The Mars Volta's album Deloused in the Comatorium. The album is the story of a man (Cerpin Taxt) who dies overdosing on Morphine (actually a friend of the bands, although not his real name). It can also be found in the last song on the album, entitled "Take the Veil Cerpin Taxt." Which is one of my favorite songs of all time. So many Internet ID's from Veil, to Taxt, Cerpin, Cerpintaxt have been born.

I've got a couple.

Terror Bird comes from the fact that I played/still play competitive SSB: Melee, and my main is Falco the bird. Me and some guys were fucking around on the internet and found a video of "Terror Bird vs Wolf" on National Geographic or something, and it seemed like the perfect name for me considering the character I played.

I also go by "BreakeR", which comes from the fact that I played a Soul Breaker in Ragnarok Online a loooong time ago. Plus I always thought it was a rather neat sounding name, short and sweet.

Phathom has kind of stuck with me since like the sixth grade lol.

When BW first came out I spent like a week trying to think of a name and my friend one day walked by and said "You're an idiot, just do fathom, how hard is a name?" Back then I thought fathom was with a PH not an F

I actually use it for everything I am that un-creative still lol. My main character in WoW is phathom, my user name for everything is phathom at this point lol.

Preliator means warrior in Latin, while Max is a shortened word for maximus which means great in Latin. Why use Latin words? It is because I like the movie Gladiator. Btw some players thought that Preliator is a clan name hehe.

I first had to pick a nickname when I started playing at Lans in quake and C&C days. Being the youngster that I was then and having no access to a quick spell check. I was not quite sure on the spelling of Cyborg. I also thought robots were the coolest things ever then, and being a super smart strong machine seemed appealing to me.

Since then I've had the chance to change it to the correct spelling once I learnt what it was, but the mispelling grew on me to the point I liked it more than the correct way. Now its stuck with me for over 16 years...and hopefully for much longer.

Well mine started when i was making an xbox live account way back in 2008. I always like gnomes and in the game Tales of Symphoina or however it is spelled my favorite boss what a giant mole named Gnome. So when i went to make my name i orginally decided that i wanted i to be King of Gnomes, but sadly was taken. So i thought for a while about it and I came up with Son of Gnome, I then made that my gamertag and its been with me ever since. I will also never every change it ^^

In game ID is "sushi", this came from a nickname I got while I was in a tennis camp when this jewish kid mistakenly thought I was japanese.
