it's just basic biology, males are programmed to have sex as much as possible to impregnate as many women as possible (it's called life). This man speaks the truth.

And if a female likes to be fucked all day long?
I mean, I'm more of someone who enjoys getting other people off over and over, but one of my girlfriends would masturbate to climax about 5 times per day.

I wonder how the Sex addicts groups would be:
- "Hello I'm Zarathustra and I am a Sex addict" - "I can proudly say I haven't touched a woman in 2 years 1 month and 3 days"
- "Congratulations Zarathustra you are no longer a sex addict, now you are just a LOSER!!!" lol
But yes I know addictions are way more complex than that.

sex/masturbation totally can be an addiction. Anything can be an addiction. Shit we were/are all addicted to computer/starcraft. Can you give up a computer for 1 month?
If you can't do that then try this, Masturbate/sex at least 3 times a day for a couple of weeks. Now try to stop cold turkey and see how long you go.

Neither of these two have any idea what they are talking about. Everyone needs to accept the fact that the jury is still out on this one. My beliefs, which are surely better formed than yours on the topic of addiction, are equally useless. "Males are programmed to have sex as much as possible..." Not true for all men... there are actually genetic markers that correlate strongly with monogamy.

Alot of people who were abused or raped at a young age as well as those with serious drug problems also experience "sex addiction". I think as far as non-substance addictions go this is a reasonable claim, but I would also assume its a result of psychological issues moreso than it is physically addicting. Similar to being addicted to gambling or something I would assume it stems from other problems and lack of self control. Personally if I get laid once a day, I'm not horny anymore, but there are people in these sex addiction clinics/help groups who can't go a few hours without masturbating or having sex. As much as I hate the whole "Lets call every issue people have a disease" theme I think that this could be a serious problem for people similar to gambling addictions.

That is actually not overly true. Our reproductive organs are designed to be able to do so, but as a species we are predominantly monogamous, similar to many less intelligent mammals. There has been research done which suggests that monogamy is a result of genetics.

endorphines...
its evolution if you dont fuck you dont procreate, so sex addicts are more suitted for the enviroment, ppl with sex addiction will pass their genes the better.... lol

Tiger Woods just went into that rehab hospital so he could live down the scandal of (GASP) having sex. I don't even see why anyone cares about this at all. Like a rich powerful good looking man having sex is such a rediculous thing to happen.

In my opinion sex addiction being an actual disease is pretty legit. You say that "it's not like a drug addictoin, as we all know drugs have an addictive component " however, have u ever heard of oxytocin? If not i highly recommend googling it and doing some research on it, some if it is actually pretty interesting stuff. But if you dont want to, just know that its a chemical found in everyone's bodies. Though alot of its uses has to do with females, when both men and women have an orgasm the level of oxytocin in the body increases. And im not positive about this part but i think i remember reading that if oxytocin didnt exist that people could not orgasm? ... dont hold me to that cuz i dont have any proof of that... but my point is, there are quite a few chemicals that are related to sex (oxytocin being just one of them, phenethylamine is another one to look up if you are interested) and sex and orgasms can bring about changes in the levels of these chemicals making us feel happy!
Therefore, if you think about it... in the same way that somebody can get addicted to the chemicals in drugs, somebody can get addicted to the chemicals related to sex... because both activites can result in the release of chemicals that make us feel good

i don't think it's that simple.
I've never been addicted to sex, but there were times that i've [felt that i've] been addicted to masturbating. Couldn't go more than 4 hours or so without masturbating. I would leave class to go masturbate, stop in the middle of dinner to masturbate, i would leave in the middle of a movie at the movie theater. Once i got a hard-on i couldn't NOT do it. Hell, i've done it on a bus with people on it, i've done it in the middle of class under my desk, been at friends' and done it next to them while they watch TV and aren't any wiser.
I've not been like that since i was a teenager. Now when i get horny and it's not an appropriate time, i just ignore it. But when i was younger, it would completely consume my thoughts, and if i couldn't do it i would get hyper-irritated, to the point where i would sweat uncontrollably and sometimes i would even get nauseous to the point of puking.
So, someone being addicted to sex? Yeah, not that hard to imagine.

"Disease."
I can barely read your thread because of such a blatant error. Please fix this.

Hahaha is this post for real? I made an account just to respond to this lol. I can imagine all those times younger hanging out with my friends and secretly meanwhile noone was looking someone was masturbating. hahaha oh god

The chemicals released during orgasm are very powerful, yes i believe it is possible.

I know sex addiction is real. The fight is long and hard and overcoming it takes alot of stamina. I hope you all learn first hand how terrible it is to sleep with alot of girls and have no control over your ability to pull out even when you know the implications of continuing.

Addiction is defined when there's consequences. When it starts to effect your everyday life in a negative way. Sex addiction is a real illness.
