Gaming can also be an addition, for instance instead of getting the right amount of sleep, you decide to game, or you decide to game instead of going out with your friends, going to school, or going to work. Instinct is also no excuse for an addiction. If we all followed our instincts most of us would probably be extremely unhappy in this day and age, we have prevented a lot of our instincts to suit society. Technically I don't know because I haven't done psychology, but to say you can't be addicted to sex or gaming would be naive, because addiction is as close as definition as you can get to describing the behavioural states mentioned. What else would you call it? | ||

dopamine is your body's natural way of telling you that something is good and you should be doing it more, like sex, exercise and success/achievement. kinda like sugar/glucose in fruit is the dopamine trigger and the brain is telling you that you should eat more fruit but then humans can artificially create sugar and made soda drinks which is kinda like food cocaine for the human brain. addiction comes in two forms. mental and physical. physical is drugs like alcohol, cocaine, heroin etc where if you stop using it you feel physical pain from withdrawal but addiction to fast food, video games etc is only mental where you're used to the dopamine rush and think that you can only achieve that dopamine hit from those activities. so yea you can definitely be mentally addicted to sex. damn if i had a lot of money and banged two smokin hot girls every single day for a year i would get addicted too. | ||
