I need your input on something. I want some kind of grip tape to put on my mouse. Has anyone experimented with this? I was thinking about putting the same material they put on top of skateboards on either side of the mouse.. any thoughts?

Umm that material would probably make your hands all rough and nasty. Try putting one of those clothlike bandaids across it, that should help. Perhaps you could also use some medical tape.

The only thing I can think of helping would be hockey tape. But seriously? Like it would be cool to have a hockey taped mouse, but is it really necessary?

Right so.. it's not that the mouse is slipping out of my hand.. but one could get much more control with a more porous surface. In the same way tennis players and golfers will wrap their shit. and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or had already modified their mouse with success.

Not really, when gripping something light like a mouse it wouldn't pull very much.

Using the grip tape used for skateboards is the worst idea I've ever heard. Back when i used to skate a lot my right thumb would be raw from rubbing against it all day

Logitech G3 Mouse is pretty good. It has rubberish sides so even if ur hand sweats it's still easy to hold.

And there advice was to go buy a mouse with better grip instead of putting skateboard grip tape on your mouse if it's really a problem.

Your comparison is kind of unfair, as there's a big difference with tennis and golf vs mouse control. They're swinging relatively heavy objects at high speeds and it's much harder to keep a proper hold on the racquet/club than it is to hold onto a mouse. Unless you're actually having trouble holding onto the mouse, grip tape on a mouse is overkill.

If you do still plan on doing it, I'd say cut out some pieces of a tennis grip and tape those on.

http://www.steelseries.com/int/products/accessories/grip

SteelSeries made something similar to what your describing. Be aware that I don't have any personal experience with this particular product though.

Edit: As the above poster says tennis griptape would work wonders if the tape itself sticks onto the mouse, can't recommend you any brands though since its been a while since I played.

Even the finest sandpaper would probably tear up your finger pads with prolonged use.

Maybe try this. Super glue a little button or something that would give you a shelf for your slippery fingers.
..and then I would, ya know, check em'. (Aka SpoR)

Some mouse(brands) have non-slip coatings, someone already mentioned the G5, most Razer mouse have this and I'm sure there are others. Weren't you the guy that wanted a Salmosa? That one has a non-slip coating on the top but not on the sides.

I really think that Tennis griptape works best, cuz it has the good rubbery feel.
But I don't think it's really necessary to "gripify" your mouse?
Perhaps just keep a towel beside your computer and wipe your hands once in a while... o.o

if by "non-slip coating" you mean it being matte then yes the salmosa has it.

It has a slightly rubbery feel to it, it's not just matte. And yeah I don't think it really matters that much.

Don't bother with any "sweet" products that are made for this purpose, just get some medical wrap and put a strip on either side of the mouse and 1 on top. Skateboard idea is awful, would be horrible feeling all day. But next time you buy a mouse the G3 would be a good idea, or the kone.
Why would you ever choose failure, when success is an option.

you can use racquet grip, i'm unsure about the types of tennis grips but with badminton theres several types you can use

i just saw the steel grip products but it hink you can make your own cutting portions out of racquet grip, which overall probably is better material in my mind

Aw, I know what you mean. Sometimes with my current mouse I double click and my mouse just flies right through the window. Mouse still works, but I'm tired of paying for window repairs.

Skateboard grip tape will rub your fingers RAW. Whenever I get a new deck the side of my thumb gets wrecked from picking it up. The large grip on the logitech g9 has a really nice non slip feel.

Nope. I had this REALLY weird mental picture of him butting double sided sticky tape on a live mouse because he couldn't hold onto it.
