That is so freaking cool. I wonder how long did it take them to precisely plan the whole operation.

congratulations to the perpetrators nice heist. i wonder if brad pitt can do a swedish accent

LOL @ Bag labled BOMB. They should just put like 30 bags of different sizes and types just to fuck with the police.

Ever heard of "flying under the radar"?

Well that theory is what weight is recommended for starting. You could actually overload some when a) already in flight (which it was) and b) flying low (which they had to do to stay under the radar). Taking into consideration that an extra kilo would be almost half a million sek(over $70k) I think they might have risked adding some extra kilos.

+1
On another note, lets keep this up so we would know what's next? Kinda Intriguing how the police tries to get these fellas caught...
I think they've been planning this for years and not months.. Like they checked out the mannerisms of the guards, what time is the traffic heavy, what day the bank is filled with money etc?
Also, they could be former military due to their very good evasive tactics? (Am I the only one thinking like this)

I think they should've slipped in a Why So Serious? reference.
But on second thought some morons would blame the movies for it -.-
|
The police need to check who suddenly became rich as hell :D
Cool story!

These guys deserved the money.

Only good part is that there is a pretty decent chance that they will get caught. i doubt there's a good chance of them getting caught when they executed this so professionally. Well even if they can't what are they gonna do? They can't scramble fighter planes for it or something. They can also just fly low enough that radar can't really even pick them up. And before anyone could figure out that something was going on it would be too late.
I dont understand this. Ive always thought that there are AWACS planes that carry radars in the air, thus the 'flying low to omit radar' is sort of a myth. The second part is the 'unidentified helicopter over city' - as far as I know the military can shot them down, especially after 9/11...

Yeah! I remembered that the biggest Swiss Bank (sorry don't know the exact name) doesn't show accounts to anyone not even to governments for that matter..

edit: hahahaha I'm laughing back here at the moron who thinks that robbing millions of dollars is "harmless". wow, it's so obvious that some of you guys have no idea how the real world works.

If they are any smart, they won't use the money for a long time and for sure as hell they won't pay it into some bank account in the next month's... Keep it cash, slowly use it, don't use *only* stolen money but also money from other *sources*, don't suddenly play rich. Most robbers get stupid after the robbery, thats why they get caught.
Btw: Sending up a military jet or something to catch them would probably have cost way more than the money they stole. Plain Killing a few robbers that did no harm to anyone (at least in this crime) is also highly questionable.
The only one that lost some money here is some insurance company which just exists and gets payed for such things, so in reality: No one, at least not in a terrible way.
6.6 Millions... some mid grade manager just lost his bonus. What a HORRIBLE crime... seriously...

Balls, skill, determination, creativity.
But what i like the most is that they didn't kill/hurt anyone during this (as far as i understand).
No matter how you look at it, moral/practical perspective you just got to give them credit for creativity and determination. And nonetheless hearing what that helicopter pilot did... pure skill.

Yeah, killing them with a Fighterjet or something would have been much better from a morality standpoint...
You should search them. You should take back the money. You should jail them. But keep it to a *sane* level.
You should not shoot them and it's good that they did not get lighted up by some military jet or something, what they did was a robbery, no one got hurt.
There are tons of people that don't pay taxes because they hide their money for some reason, but you don't want to shoot them for it? Or do you?...
