I wont discuss this now.. but he was only good for a short time frame. I know thats no reason to not elect him for the the Ballon D'Or.. still I just dont agree at all with you that its the most epic ever.. If anything Id say Zidane & C.Ronaldo deserved it the most when they got it because zidane was just the esscence of beauty on the pitch and CRonlado was just so fast and so brillant he couldnt really be compared.. But I dont even want to argue.. ^^ Actually u arent from sweden but italy, are u ? | ||

Ronaldo getting the ballon would have been a fucking joke in 2006 - honestly his performance at WC was disappointing Canavaro DID deserve it (maybe not as much as zizou but w/e, I m pretty biased on this subject) | ||

If you don't want to watch the entire video, I urge you to watch what he does around 3:55-4:02. That is the second biggest stage in the football world (the biggest being the WC final), it's overtime and only minutes to go... look at the determination in that run. OMG. Oh, man! Fucking perfection! I can watch those few seconds on repeat forever, it's just incredible! Even though you're german and probably bitter about that loss, surely you can see the defensive artistry in that. It's fucking orgasmic. Many of you thinks that Cannavaro balon d'or was the most undeserved, because of course they would've liked more Zidane or Henry maybe winning it, as an Italian I also like to see them play more than I like see Cannavaro play so i can imagine your point, but if you merely consider how well he played during the World Cup (Italy didn't get a single goal scored by the opposite team and not on a penalty, they've just been scored a ridicolous own goal against USA and a penalty in the final against France), and how well he played the previous season that Juventus won (no matter what calciopoli says), then you would have no doubt he was the most worthy player that year | ||

also to be noted is that after the WC, cannavaro went to madrid and promptly proceeded to play like ass. to be fair though, that entire defensive unit blew huge balls (with the exception of casillas, who for many games single-handedly carried that defense). he's been playing extremely well lately since his recent transfer back to juventus though, so i'm happy for him. definitely one of my favorite defenders, not because of flashy play, but because of fundamental soundness. | ||
