From Arsenal surviving the first 15 minute onslaught, Barca finally getting their well deserved goals only to have Arsenal storm back in the last 15 minutes dominating in similar fashion. Return leg going to be exciting even with all the players sidelined.
I agree, that was a totally sick game. Barca has piquenbauer and caveman suspended, whilst we have ol' fabo suspended. Looks pretty much in their favour, but an upset can happen. Got to remember the magic that was 5-1 Inter return match when we were 4-0 down from the first leg. This series could well be a classic.

true... it was a genious move to put walcott on the field
barca can't feel too happy tough, considering the game at whole

I wanted to see Messi do some good plays as I mainly watch Premiership, alas it wasn't to be today Should do in a week's time though

ahah lmao how old are you to be making beckenbauer references?
watch 6 months from now people will just google to reference this game how arsenal tied barca the same way they do to check how in our last game with Man U we lost 3 to 1 and then they can say we got dominated. When any fucking person who watched that game knows Man U didnt dominate shit. Good luck with Bayern next week apparantly Robben is fit while Rooney is gone 2-4 weeks. I actually like our chances vs. Barca more then yours vs. Bayern

of course hes an Arsenal fan im talking to the people I been dealing with over the last 20 pages of this thread.

those people aren't talking to you though

let's be honest, arsenal did a good job to "box" messi with Song and diabi but they left gaps WIDE open in their central defense which was , but lady luck was on arsenals side.
As for the penalty and red... I think it was just because (don't go flaming now) fabregas was trying to shoot and behind all the barca defenders and puyol although he held his ground didn't let him kick... if I remember his body was behind fabregas and only 1 leg was preventing fabregas from kicking. He was also the last man. Imo it's a penalty but the last man crap was way too harsh maybe a yellow, but if I was playing I'd be screaming at the ref for the last man and asked him to give a red.
The ref was also very sloppy because whenever somebody fell, he almost immediately gave a free kick, but when people held their ground then 1 second later lost the ball because of it he would say nothing which is retarded because it promotes going down every minute.

Seriosuly what is your problem, i know your a total arsenal fanboy but you don't have to keep telling us with long paragraphs, just say "I BEELEIVE ARSENAL IS AMAZING AND THAT MAN U SUCKS AND IS OVER-RATED BECUASE I AM AN ARSENAL FAN AND I HATE MAN U" would save a lot of time, posting and spell checking, because we'd get the message that way as well.
Anyways, Arsenal were REALLY lucky to draw that i think, Barca were totally dominant in that game, especially at the start. I think as well we can use this as an example to show that messi isn't the messiah's second coming who wins every game for barca no matter the side they are against. I really didn't think the game was that good, i mean it was just alot of barca running circles round arsenal, with some dreadful finishing from imb. and messi and then arsenal got a luckster penalty, which I'm pretty sure wasn't even a penalty, i mean if you look at the replay fab. ran into Puyol, and got his leg caught in between Puyol's and then fell-over in typical diving arsenal fashion.
I think the second leg could be much better, if messi can actually preform, and now fab. is out i can see Arsenal getting slaughtered in the second leg. As for untied, i think they could end up with just the carling cup this year, if rooney is injured for both the Chelsea and the B.munich game. which kinda sucks. Personally I think i can see either inter or barc winning the champions league and Chelsea running away with the PL, united 2nd Arsenal 3rd.

cause I got a class to go to I have to keep it short. They quote my posts like you so they are talking to me. The fact that you didnt notice Messi's impact on todays game means you dont understand football and the fact that you didnt see this game for how beautiful it was especially the passing early on for Barca makes me think its best for you to go post in another thread about shit you do understand.

WOW, Arsenal got destroyed. They've looked really good at times this season but they couldn't even get near Barce. Messi was quiet and couldn't really get in the game. He's still the best player in the world but it just shows that even great players have off days. Arsenal were very lucky in the end. The first half was a destruction, it was like watching a Premiership side against league1 opposition. They did very well to battle back, Wenger did well to get them pumped for the second half, made a good sub bringing Walcott on and in the end they got a very lucky penalty.
Possession * Arsenal 38% * Barcelona 62% Attempts on target * Arsenal 2 * Barcelona 14 Attempts off target * Arsenal 3 * Barcelona 7
The stats say it all, Barce will feel robbed. Still, at least the second leg will be exciting xD

Ridiculous penalty/red card. Huge influence in next week's game obviously. 1-2 they probably won't stand a chance, 2-2 is a totally different story with the entire center back gone for Barca.
Gah what an anticlimax to dominate so much and get robbed by a poor referee decision in the end =[.

It won't matter. Barcelona at home is like fighting a war against Spartans with an army of sc2 players.

absolutely beautiful game from barcelona as usual. messi played amazing, just didn't score. Ibra wasted a few early chanced, but obv owned during second half. Whoever says that messi didnt play well or trys to insinuate that he didnt play such a large role in todays game is way wrong, he was awesome once again. just cause he didnt score doesnt mean anything...
anyway, the red card was obviously a horrible call, puyol was there first and was doing what a defender does. the ball was already passed fabregas and there was no way that anyone can argue that fabregas was going to score from that angle, especially when puyol was already there, (wtf was he supposed to do? o.O)

So I thought this was pretty funny Top 3 EPL teams and maybe top 3 injuries but not so much for Chelsea
Rooney after the Bayern game - injured out for 2-4 weeks + Show Spoiler +
Fabergas after taking the PK, his leg might be broken + Show Spoiler + Drogba injury during training + Show Spoiler +

still have no idea why so many think it is not a penalty.... I have even read all the argument. Puyol know that Fabregas will pull the trigger, whether Fab will connect with the ball or score is another matter and no one can tell. so basically Puyol walked/ran towards the ball/Fab without playing the ball and at the same time knowing that standing behind him will disrupt his kicking action. You see these kind of things all the time, it is like when a defender got outpaced and then cut across the opposition from the back and contacts just happened during the normal course of running, and it is a foul.
And when you say he was holding his position, well, he moved, sorry, maybe it is a bit harsh on the defender but that is life. Puyol know full well that standing behind someone striking a ball will block his action, all I can say is that he is a smart defender and would normally get away but on this occasion he didn't. One thing I will give you is that Fab was looking for it, he wanted contact and unfortunately when a defender get the wrong side, shit happens.

I thought that was a deserved penalty, but the red card was a bit harsh and unnecessary.
