They also have the 18th, 28th, 45th and 47th. I actually like that move. It's not like they were gonna get anywhere with miller and foye so might as well rebuild with a higher upside rook. Yeah this draft is looking weak but you never know how it will turn out until serveral years later. Minny has a solid frontcourt nucleus and since this draft is heavy on guards, if they can get just one or two of their picks to pan out, they have the makings of a decent team.

And are buyouts when teams pay their players or their former team's the amount in their contract? About Jennings, the guy from high school that went to Italy and now is in the draft; most teams aren't sure if they're willing to buy him out of his former team in Europe but I wasn't sure what that meant.

But their goal apparently is to package the 5th and 18th pick and trade it for the 2nd pick. I don't know who would trade their 2nd pick for the 5th and 18th because the draft takes a dip after #1 and pretty much a freefall after #5 when looking at talent. I personally wouldn't even trade the #2 pick for a #5/#6 package. But the Wolves also picked up crappy contracts and scrubs in Oleksiy Pecherov, Etan Thomas and Darius Songaila. In any event, they better execute their plan and trade up to get themselves in position so they can grab the highest pick.

That's already 8 players and their roster plus 10 guys after giving away 2 so they have a total of 18 players. They're going to have to alot of cutting. Players can agree to terminate their contracts for an amount of money that they negotiate with the team. It can be the full salary (rarely) or less than full (usually, especially when the player is gonna sign somewhere else very quickly). Basically, in order to terminate, jennings has some sort of clause in his contract that he (or the team that drafts him) must pay 200,000 to his former team.

As a 2008-2009 Mike Miller fantasy owner, I can tell you with certainty that Mike Miller was not a good fit on the Wolves. I honestly do think they might be better with Gomes as starting SF, plus Corey Brewer is coming back, so who knows. Bassy - Rodney Carney - Brewer - Big Al - Big Love ... ok so that's still a very crappy roster, but what if: 5th pick - 6th pick - Brewer - Big Al - Big Love with Bassy and Gomes fron the bench? ... ok that's still not a playoff team. ... yet.

Roy, Aldridge, Rondo.... drop off. Somehow the Blazers ended up with the talent from 06 with Roy and Aldridge (through great trades no less), but Rudy Gay looked primed to have a career year until Mayo and Conley came his way. Tyrus Thomas is a freak of an athlete and should be a solid player next year (stop me if you've ever heard that before lol). Other than Roy, there really are no super stars in this draft but there is ton of potential in Gay, Thomas, Bargnani, Brewer, and Millsap.

Yao, Butler, Amare, Boozer, Tayshaun and to a lesser extent Nene and Salmons (who both had solid years this past season)

It's just a brutal draft. Remember, Mike Miller ROY. [edit] Honorable HT Mention goes to AMIR JOHNSON @ 56 Thanks, Tenbagger. I knew you were looking out for me. Although I don't like his chances under Skiles.
