The first think I removed was the music, all it did was distract me from my clicking and I couldn't focus on jumps with all of these pitch changes. My initial solution was to replace all song files with a single noted being sung for the entirety of the song, but then I found it easier to just remove the song altogether. All was going well for a few days, I was passing more maps then I could imagine, I truly thought I had reached osu! nirvana. Oh how wrong I was: this was just the tip of the iceberg. I never looked at the numbers anyway, so those were gone. Sliders? Too big. Gone. Stream became too obtrusive, so I wrote a script that made any hit that came into contact with a previous hit not show up. Then the combo colors started to bother me too, the purity of my skill was being corrupted by these prismatic fiends! I had vanquished all the distracting foes before me, and this challenger proved to be just as easily defeated. After awhile of playing my grey scale hit-only osu! maps I read Megaman's post. Oh, how stupid I was! Of course! It has been the hitcircles all along! I hastily went into my skin folder and replaced my bane with the pure image of nothingness that has taken over the rest of my osu! domain. There is one point where Master EXE has been naive though. The most fundamental distraction of osu!...is osu! itself! Get rid of that vile program and allow yourself to truly be at peace, no distraction preventing you from transcending reality and playing at your peak.
