update:
we lost in a spectacular fashion in a fleet that can be described in broodwar terms as "4 Pool"
later it turned out all our pilots bet against us winning and made money. we have another shot next week and it apears that we'll be taking it a bit more seriously this time

As for my reasons, when I look at PL these days I no longer see the entity that done great things, rose from a small 400 man alliance to being a superpower led by some very smart people and doing revolutionary things, these days all I see is a bloated moon mining alliance with lazy leadership that just seems to want to play the numbers game, distracting its members with ****ty campaigns and becoming ever richer with ludicrous amounts of isk being thrown around like nothing, partly a victim of the games sovereignty mechanics and partly a victim of greed and hubris, todays PL has set itself up as a carbon copy of bob circa 2006/2007 with loads of ****ty pets, meaningless ego boosting campaigns against easy targets and a full cast and crew forum posting champs and e-celebs that barely log in.

I think PL peaked 3 months ago and its going downhill from here, PL's purpose at formation was to kill off bob and all the bull**** hubris and arragonce that they stood for, now look at PL it's the same mentality come full circle (probably nothing to do with the fact that a portion of the idiots who ran bob into the ground are now in PL) bob died for its sins and eventually PL will too, and I have the sneaking feeling it will be inside 7-10 months time

As for stealing from NESW, I never wanted to hurt nesw this was aimed at the alliance not the corp, I didnt take anything except for readily replaceble alliance assets like dreads and isk which I'm sure the .7 trillion this alliance makes per month can easily replace, the only thing I feel bad about is letting down those who always had a lot of faith and trust in me like shad, elty, ach and the oldschool nesw'ers, this was aimed at the alliance and nothing/nobody else altho I do enjoy giving the leadership of PL the finger as I leave.

take some consilation that eventually viper is probably going to **** PL on a much larger scale down the line anyway, or if not viper any other number of people who have had the same thoughts in the back of their mind about PL eventually dying under the weight of its own ego and shift in attitude from an easygoing fun pvp alliance to a highly strung seriousbusiness isk factory and want their own pound of flesh before they leave
